Your adventure begins at 6 pm in the charming Piazza Barberini, where you’ll meet your guide and fellow group of explorers. Please aim to arrive a few minutes early, which ensures you have time to take in the stunning Fontana del Tritone and impressive Baroque architecture before hopping on your golf cart. While you settle in, your guide will share a brief overview of your plan for the day, as well as intriguing insights into your surroundings. You’re also sure to notice just how bustling Rome can be in the late afternoon, which is why a golf cart is the perfect way to enjoy a stress-free adventure through the city!
Pantheon, Piazza Navona & Pizza
Your first stop of the afternoon is the Pantheon, and it promises to amaze. Originally built in the 2nd century as a temple to all the gods of pagan Rome, this extraordinary structure has long stood the test of time and is a perfect introduction to the wonders of ancient Rome. Entrance is not included, but you'll have the chance to admire its iconic dome from the outside before continuing. Your next stop is Piazza Navona, and thanks to your golf cart, you’ll soon be admiring Bernini’s intricate fountains and taking in the buzzing atmosphere. This square is also famous for its superb restaurants, and with your guide's insider knowledge, you’ll head to one of the best for a delightful pizza dinner and authentic gelato.
Campo de’ Fiori, St. Peter’s Basilica & Trastevere
Fueled up and ready for more adventure, hop back on the golf cart for a joyful ride through Campo de’ Fiori. While a bustling farmers’ market during the day, by night, this lovely square turns into the perfect place to catch up with friends for a drink or snack. You’ll have to put this on your to-do list for later, though, as there’s plenty more Rome to see, and soon, you’ll be zipping past St. Peter’s Basilica on your way to Trastevere. Featuring cobblestone streets, ancient buildings, and artisan shops, this vibrant neighborhood is quintessential Rome and is an excellent place to pause for photos and learn more about the city’s storied past.
Circus Maximus, Colosseum & Mouth of Truth
A short ride away awaits Circus Maximus, and while it’s hard to imagine the roaring crowds and thrilling chariot races of the past, your guide has just the stories and insights to bring this grassy expansive to life. On the other hand, your next stop, the Colosseum, is well preserved and stands tall and proud today. Pause for a quick photo op outside and to learn about its famous gladiator contests before settling in for a delightful drive to the Mouth of Truth. Legend has it that this ancient marble statue bites off the hands of liars who dare place their hand within its open jaws. Will you give it a go?
Capitoline Hill, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps
Your journey next brings up Capitoline Hill, where you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping views of Rome sprawling below. Take in the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and other ancient ruins before heading down to Piazza Venezia. Dominated by the imposing Vittoriano, a colossal monument dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, this square is the perfect place to delve deeper into Rome’s history while appreciating its modern-day bustle.
Then, last but certainly not least, turn your attention to two of Rome’s most romantic spots: the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Take your time pondering each’s artistic details and be sure to ask your guide any questions, as soon, it’ll be time to bid farewell and continue on with your evening independently. Thanks for joining!
