Hop On Your Segway

Your helpful guide will get everyone situated with their Segways and helmets before giving a brief introduction on how to use the Segways. Once everyone feels ready, it will be time to take the Segways out for a spin!
Piazza dei Santi Apostoli
Your adventure begins right in Piazza dei Santi Apostoli, a gorgeous square named after its impressive church. Admire the view of the Palace of the Saint Apostles as your guide explains the alluring history of this square. Snap a few photos before riding over to your next stop on the tour.
Piazza Venezia
Next, cruise over to Piazza Venezia, an iconic square in Rome. Found at the base of the Capitol, this is where five of the city’s most vital streets intersect. Your guide will point out the Altare della Patria, a hugely symbolic monument dedicated to commemorating the unification of Italy, which occurred in the year 1861. The historic monument is surrounded by three palaces, including the oldest, Palazzo Venezia, which houses the national museum.
Largo di Torre Argentina
Continue gliding through the idyllic Roman streets until you reach Largo di Torre Argentina. Marvel at the ancient ruins of four Roman temples that stand in the center of this incredible square. Among other historic artifacts, this is where you will find the ruins of the Curia of Pompey, where Julius Caesar was famously stabbed to death.
Campo de’ Fiori
Follow your guide to your next legendary square, Campo de’ Fiori, which was a meadow until being transformed in the 15th century. The square is famous for the many executions that took place there, including that of philosopher and friar Giordano Bruno, who was burnt alive in 1600 after being accused of heresy. A bronze statue was erected in the center of the square to honor his memory in 1889.
Piazza Navona
Jumping back on your Segway, you’ll zip over to the famous Piazza Navona, which stands as a symbol of Roman Baroque due to the architectural and sculptural elements by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini. In ancient Rome, this square was actually the Stadium of Domitian and used exclusively for athletic competitions.
The Pantheon
Next, ride over to the historic Pantheon, a legendary temple that was originally built as a place for all divinities. After being damaged by fires, it was rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian, and in the early 7th century it was converted into a Christian basilica. Listen closely as your guide details the complex history behind this ancient structure. Before leaving, be sure to take a photo of the Pantheon’s impressive dome, which is one of the largest in the world!
Trevi Fountain
Enjoy one last spin on your Segway as you ride to your last stop of the tour, the one and only Trevi Fountain. Admire the fountain’s baroque design and immaculate details, as your guide explains the history of this famous fountain. Internationally recognized from Fellini’s film, La Dolce Vita, the Trevi Fountain was built between 1732 and 1762 and is now one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks.
After taking plenty of photos, follow your guide back to Piazza dei Santi Apostoli to drop off your Segway. Afterward, feel free to revisit any of your favorite landmarks from the tour!
