Your thrilling Segway tour in Rome begins in Piazza dei Santi Apostoli, where after a brief orientation session, you'll hop on and effortlessly make your way to the Trajan’s Column and Market. Admire impressive architecture dating back to the 2nd century before continuing along the picturesque Via dei Fori Imperiali to the Colosseum.
Take a moment to ponder this magnificent amphitheater and its nearby Arch of Constantine before cruising over to Circus Maximus. Before hopping on your Segway and whizzing around Rome, we ask that you meet in Piazza dei Santi Apostoli, 30 minutes before the start of your tour. During this time, you’ll check in, get fitted with a helmet, meet your guide and fellow group members, and learn the ins and outs of using a Segway. Then, you’ll embark on your adventure.
In just a few minutes and without breaking a sweat, you'll have navigated your way to Trajan's Column. Standing at 100 feet (not including its base), Trajan's Column is undoubtedly an artistic masterpiece, and thanks to your speedy journey, you'll have plenty of time to admire Trajan Market, a marvel of ancient Roman architecture. As one of the ancient world's earliest examples of a shopping mall, the market offers a fascinating peek into ancient Roman life.
Relive Gladiatorial Battles and Imperial Forums
Having explored the legacies of Emperor Trajan, you’ll continue to Via dei Fori Imperiali. Opened in 1932, Via dei Fori Imperiali is not just one of Rome's most scenic streets but also offers a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Rome. As you glide along, watch for remains of the forums of Caesar, Augustus, Nerva, and Trajan.
Soon, the Colosseum will come into view. Originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, it is without a doubt the largest Roman amphitheater in the world and is well worth a stop to capture an iconic photo or two.
Celebrate Victories and Chariot Races
Thanks to your easy-to-navigate Segway, you’ll soon reach the majestic Arch of Constantine, located at the foot of the Colosseum. This tribute to the Emperor’s victory over Maxentius is renowned for its detailed sculptures and showcases the intricate craftsmanship of Roman sculptors.
Next, steer your Segway toward the vast expanse of the Circus Maximus. This ancient stadium, now a peaceful grassy field, once echoed with the thundering hooves of chariots and the cheers of up to 250,000 spectators. Legends whisper that it was also on these very grounds that Romulus, Rome's mythical founder, orchestrated grand games, which culminated in the dramatic and tumultuous event known as the Rape of the Sabine Women.
Secrets, Views, and Roman Grandeur
The final leg of your Segway tour brings you to the mysterious Mouth of Truth. Test the legend by placing your hand inside, but only if you've always been truthful, as it’s said to bite the hand of liars. From there, ascend to the Garden of the Orange Trees, a serene park offering panoramic views of Rome, before continuing to Piazza del Campidoglio. This square, designed by Michelangelo, is home to the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius and is the perfect spot to capture memorable photos against the backdrop of magnificent buildings.

How comprehensive is the Segway tour portion of this tour?
In the spirit of seeing as much of Rome in one morning as possible, we will not be entering any monument. You'll still get to admire the Colosseum, Roman Forum and much more, from the outside.

No, this tour is crafted for all abilities. Our friendly guides will give you a thorough introduction on how to use a Segway before heading out and ensure you feel safe and comfortable throughout the tour.

No, food is not included in the price of this tour. However, your guide will be we’re happy to recommend one of their favorite lunch or dinner spots for after your tour.

Are drinks included in the price of the tour?
No, but our guides are happy to recommend a good spot to grab a drink after the tour. We recommend bringing water with you, as you'll be whizzing around Rome for two hours.
Can I bring my kids, and do I have to pay for them?
The minimum age for our Rome Segway tour is 16 due to safety concerns. While Segways are easy to maneuver, it does take some skill and road awareness to navigate the busy streets of Rome. And unfortunately, it is also unsafe for infants and children to ride with a parent.
Does this tour include hotel pickup?
No, hotel pickup is not included on this tour. You'll meet your guide in the Piazza dei Santi Apostoli.
