One of my goals of every vacation I take it to eat at a great rooftop restaurant.
You wouldn’t imagine how many there are in Rome either. Many with amazing views tucked right into the center of the city. This post will allow you to check, “rooftop restaurant” off your checklist!

The 5 Best Rooftop Restaurants in Rome
There is just something about having a meal or cocktail on a rooftop. There are actually many in Rome and we’ve narrowed down a list including places near Piazza Navona, Vatican, Colosseum, and Trastevere. We’ve also added different price ranges. While a meal high up normally comes for a high price it doesn’t always have to break the bank. For a cheaper option, check out Cesàri.
Terrazza Borromini
€€€€ | Upscale Rooftop Dining | Piazza Navona
If you don’t want to sit in Piazza Navona, why not sit ON Piazza Navona? Terrazza Borromini translates to Borromini’s Terrace. And it is just that.
An amazing terrace overlooking Piazza Navona that feels practically tucked into the Church of Saint Agatha in Agony. If you twirl your pasta incorrectly the sauce could splatter and stain the church its that close.
The food is good and you’ll get incredible service. The bill will reflect the experience. I would eat here on a special trip. Great place for a proposal or anniversary trip. If you’re in Rome on business it would be the place to take clients.

I Sofà Bar Restaurant & Roof Terrace
€€€ | Upscale Rooftop Dining | Via Giulia
Located on top of Hotel Indigo, Sofà Bar Restaurant is simply cool. They have a great rooftop terrace with tons of seating. The rooftop is just high enough where all you can see is a sea of terracotta roofs and ceilings of the city. Something the average tourist never gets to see.
The food is great and the prices are great (volume-wise). It is a cool place to impress your date or travel companion.
Address: Via Giulia 62 | Hours: Tues – Sun 7:30 – 10pm | RSVP
Aroma*
€€€€ | Fine Dining | Covered Rooftop Dining | Michelin Star | Colosseum
For a truly luxury experience, head to Aroma Restaurant, situated on the rooftop of the five-star Palazzo Manfredi Hotel. As well as a spectacular view of the Colosseum (which is just meters away) guests can enjoy fine dining courtesy of chef Giuseppe di Iorio. One of the best Michelin Star restaurants in Rome, the menu here focuses on traditional Italian cooking.
It’s perfect for super special occasions, but with a Michelin Star to its name, Aroma isn’t cheap. A seafood tagliolini pasta on an eggplant and fennel puree costs €42 and the seven-course tasting menu will set you back €150 per person.

Terrace Bramante Hotel Raphael (Temporarily Closed)
€€€ | Upscale Dining or Drinks | Rooftop Seating | Piazza Navona
Terrace Bramante is known for it’s beautifully crafted as well as particularly aesthetically pleasing food and drink. Their menu is quite diverse and ranges from traditional pasta dishes to a plethora of fantastic vegan dishes that can often be difficult to find elsewhere in Rome.
The service here is extremely engaging, and the layout of the terrace calls for a sociable hour to share with other guests as well as the friendly staff. Be aware of the wind, but this can also make for a comfortable night, especially in the midst of the heated summery months in Rome.

La Terrazza del Cesàri La

€€ | Cocktails/Aperitivo | Rooftop Terrace | Least Expensive | Pantheon
You can’t eat here, but you can get a drink and enjoy great views. This is a little hidden gem rooftop right in the center of Rome. You can get a prosecco and enjoy the sunset over aperitivo. Its a cool place and you should consider making a reservation.
