About the Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower, one of the iconic symbols of Paris, was built for the 1889 World's Fair. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, it stands at 324 meters tall and comprising over 18,000 iron pieces and 2.5 million rivets. Surprisingly, it only took two years, two months, and five days to build! The Eiffel Tower includes three observations levels, it offers incredible views of Paris and beyond. The Eiffel Tower symbolizes Paris's rich history, as it continues to capture the hearts of everyone that visits.
Why does the Eiffel Tower Sparkle?
Did you know that since its creation, the Eiffel Tower has always been illuminated? Originally, it had many external projectors that lit up the beautiful facade. However, in 1985 yellow-orange spotlights were installed in the projectors place. If you want to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle, make sure to visit when night falls! The sparkle lasts around 5 minutes at the beginning of each hour, with the last sparkle occurring at 11 pm.
