Journey from Paris to Giverny
Your adventure begins at Trocadero square, a plaza known for its stunning views of the Eiffel Tower and perfectly manicured gardens. Here, while enjoying the quietness of morning in Paris, you'll meet your guide and fellow travel companions for the day and find a seat on the comfortable coach bus. Then, it's time to hit the road. Before long, you'll be traveling through the idyllic French countryside and admiring the rolling hills and charming villages that lead the way to the quaint town of Giverny. Along the one-hour journey, tune into expert commentary from your guide about the passing landscapes and enjoy an introduction to the artsy wonders that await ahead.
Explore the House & Gardens of Monet
Upon your arrival in Giverny, you'll head straight to the enchanting House and Gardens of Monet where the artist lived and painted for 43 years. Listen to a brief introduction given by your guide before heading through the entrance to explore at your leisure, as the guide won’t enter the estate with you. As you step inside, you'll understand why this precious piece of history is a must-visit while in Paris. Each room has been carefully preserved to maintain its late 19th-century atmosphere, allowing you to immerse yourself in Monet's studio, the charming blue-tiled kitchen, and the welcoming dining room frequented by many illustrious guests.
While here, you'll also have plenty of time to roam the gardens. Experience for yourself the impressive expanse of the estate and the thoughtfully manicured greenery that fills every inch. It's easy to see why this space inspired many of Monet's impressionist works, and you might even be inspired yourself as you take in the colorful flower beds Monet's gardens are divided into two parts: a flower garden in front of the house, called Le Clos Normand, and a Japanese-inspired water garden on the other side of the road. The two parts of Monet's garden contrast with and complement each other.
Free Time in Giverny
Once you've had time to appreciate Monet's vibrant estate, you're welcome to continue your independent exploration in Giverny where several American Impressionist artists also settled in the past drawn by the landscapes, the overall atmosphere, and the presence of Monet. Use your free time to savor a leisurely lunch in a local café, wander through quaint streets lined with stone houses, and pop into cozy boutique shops and art galleries to purchase a piece of Giverny's charm to bring home.
Then, at a pre-designated time, regroup back on the coach bus and settle in for your return transfer to Paris. You can expect to arrive to Porte Maillot, ensuring you have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day in Paris. Au revoir and thank you for joining!
