After meeting at Lido delle Sirene beach near the center of Amalfi, your friendly local guide will make sure you're comfortable and ready for the adventure ahead. You'll be given a life jacket and paddles, and you'll get on the water in either a single or tandem sea kayak. Amalfi's Finest Beaches
The journey begins heading out of Amalfi town and west along the winding coast. Soon you'll pass by the stunning beaches of Duoglio and Santa Croce—just two of the many beautiful beaches and coves you'll see today. At some of the best spots, your local guide will stop so you can take a swim in the crystal clear sea, snorkel over the reefs, or paddle up to the beach for a lie down on the sand.
The Arc of Lovers
One of the most iconic of the many impressive rock structures you'll see today is the Arch of Lovers. This natural rock arch was created millions of years ago from sea erosion and appears to depict two elephants kissing. Until quite recently it was a popular spot for couples to get married.
Whether the nature of your trip to the coast is romantic or not, the arc of rock is a site well worth seeing.
Sfogliatelle and Sofia Loren
As you head into the ancient fishing village of Conca dei Marini you may be struck with an aura of greatness. First, you'll pass the epic villa that actress and fashion icon Sofia Loren calls home. Later, you'll see the Santa Rosa Monastery—now a luxury resort, this beautiful old building became famous for creating the decadent Sfogliatella Santa Rosa shell shaped pastry now beloved in Italy and beyond.
Runghetiello Grotto
Once past Conca dei Marini you'll paddle around the cape named after the village, where you'll have an amazing view of the villages of Praiano and Furore, the beautiful island of Capri, and the famous Faraglioni Rocks.
Finally you'll reach the beautiful Runghetiello Grotto. This picturesque little sea cave is named after a local fish, and is brightly frescoed in red and green by the minerals on its walls.
After some time in the grotto, your guide will lead you on the return journey back along the coast to Amalfi, with a few more swimming and snorkeling stops along the way.
