Morning Pickup from Sorrento
Your day begins at an easy meeting point in central Sorrento, in via Correale. Hop aboard a comfortable minivan for the short drive to the Port of Sorrento, where your boat will be waiting along with your English-speaking trip leader and skipper. This is where you can purchase snorkeling equipment if you don't have your own (€20 for mask and snorkel).
The boat holds a maximum of 13 people—a wonderful small group to explore the beautiful Bay of Naples. As you pull out of the marina, take in the amazing views of Sorrento and the surrounding cliffs before turning your eyes towards Ischia and Procida.
During the boat ride you'll see in the distance the small island of Nisida, the Phlegraean Fields, and all the way up to Capo Miseno, the furthest point of the Phlegrean peninsula.
The Green Island of Ischia
Upon arrival in Ischia, you'll first visit Maronti beach, the longest on the island at almost 3 km. Next, you'll stop at the Green Cave, an incredible natural cave carved into the rock, inside which the light creates a play of colors and shades of green as it reflects off the water. After a stop to swim and snorkel, you'll continue to the Aragonese Castle, a true symbol of the island. This majestic fortress stands on a huge rock, connected to the East side of the island by a bridge of 220 meters.
Your boat will dock the port of Ischia for 3 or 4 hours of free time to explore the island on your own. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch in one of the village's authentic restaurants and enjoy views across the bay. You can even choose to travel around on one of Ischia's iconic three-wheeled microtaxis, a fun and unique way of touring Ischia and discover the main points of interest.
Lunch and taxi hire are not included, but your trip leader will be happy to give tips and recommendations for where to go and what to do on Ischia island.
Traditional Charms of Procida Island
The tour continues towards Procida. While sailing around the island, you'll stop to admire the islet of Vivara, Terra Murata with the former prison of Palazzo d’Avalos, the colorful houses of Marina di Corricella, and the beautiful bay of Chiaiozza. You'll also stop for a swim in one of the many bays along the coast.
In Procida, you will have 1 or 2 hours of free time to visit the island by land. Take a stroll through the cobbled streets and old world charms of Procida, and you'll discover why it became the first island to win Italian Capital of Culture in 2022!
Cruise Back to Sorrento
Finally, we will leave Procida and return to Sorrento. Along the way, your trip leader will bring out some local limoncello to celebrate a fantastic day in the Bay of Naples.
Upon return to the Port of Sorrento, the driver will take you back to the center of Sorrento where you can enjoy your evening.
