Morning pickup from Positano
Your day kicks off in the heart of Positano, where you’ll meet your group and hop into a comfortable, air-conditioned van. The drive to the Port of Piano di Sorrento takes you along one of Italy’s most scenic coastal roads. Sit back and enjoy the views—this stretch of the Amalfi Coast has been a favorite of travelers for centuries, from Roman emperors to 20th-century writers and movie stars. At the port, your boat and English-speaking local crew will be waiting. With a maximum of just 12 people on board, this small group setting is ideal for a relaxing and personal experience.
Cruise to Capri
As you leave the Sorrento marina behind, you'll cruise past rugged cliffs and charming seaside villages. This stretch of coastline is full of stories—some locals say that the Roman general Odysseus was drawn to these waters by the songs of the sirens. As you cross the Bay of Naples, the silhouette of Capri begins to appear in the distance. Known for its luxury boutiques and dramatic landscapes, the island has attracted everyone from Roman emperors to Hollywood legends.
One of the first landmarks you’ll spot is the ancient Villa Jovis—the imperial palace of Emperor Tiberius. Your guide will share the fascinating (and sometimes scandalous) stories of Tiberius’ rule from this island retreat, including the rumors that made Capri infamous in Roman times. As you continue your journey, you’ll enjoy a delicious local Caprese sandwich, made with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and a drizzle of rich extra virgin olive oil—perfect for savoring the Mediterranean flavors while soaking in the stunning views.
Green, White, and Marvelous Grottoes
Before docking, your captain will cruise around the island so you can admire some of its most famous coastal sights. You'll pass the Arco Naturale (a dramatic rock arch), the iconic Faraglioni sea stacks, and several sea caves with brilliant colors. You'll make stops to swim or snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and visit the Green Grotto, White Grotto, and Marvelous Grotto—each one with its own unique rock formations and colors created by sunlight reflecting through the water.
Please note: this tour doesn't stop at the famous Blue Grotto due to long waiting times, but you can visit during your free time in Capri if you'd like to. Tickets are required to hop on one of the approved rowboats that enter the Blue Grotto, so just make sure to bring the €18 entry fee in cash for each person in your group and enjoy a dazzling ride through this incredible cave
Free time on the island of Capri
Back at Marina Grande, you’ll have 4 hours to explore Capri at your own pace. Want to shop for handmade sandals or Italian linen? Head up to Capri Town via the funicular. Prefer a quieter vibe? Anacapri offers peaceful alleys, local shops, and some of the best views on the island from Mount Solaro. Whether you’re after a great seafood lunch, a hidden beach, or just a perfect cappuccino with a view, your crew will be happy to share their personal recommendations.
Swimming, snorkeling and relaxation
Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to swim and relax. If you brought your snorkel gear (or pick some up locally), you can explore underwater caves and rocky reefs teeming with marine life. On board, enjoy a cold drink—beer, wine, or a soft drink—and soak in the Mediterranean sunshine. This is the kind of day that stays with you long after your trip ends. After returning to Sorrento, savor one final glass of prosecco or a shot of homemade limoncello before your van is ready to take you back to Positano, full of great memories and probably a few hundred photos.
