Night Tour of the Louvre Museum

Skip the line and embark on a journey through the museums with your personal expert Louvre guide. Throughout the tour, you will walk through some of the most fascinating art exhibits in the world. Now, this museum is the world’s largest museum, but did you know that at one time its sole purpose was to serve as a fortress and then a palace? You will enjoy learning facts like this all while seeing the many artworks when you tour the Louvre.

The Mystery Behind the Mona Lisa

Why is the Mona Lisa so famous? For starters, Mona Lisa’s expression has been well debated since its creation in the 16th Century. Is she happy or sad? Aside from the constant debate, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa is the most insured work of art, cashing in at a whopping $800 million. Be sure to snap a picture of the Mona Lisa and then continue on with your tour to see more of the Louvre’s greatest pieces.

Sculptures of the Louvre

Although the Louvre houses thousands of paintings, it is also home to many statues. Two of the more famous statues include the Winged Victory of Samothrace and Venus de Milo. After exploring the statues, be sure to check out some of the museum’s great Greek and Roman antiquities. As you take it all in, your guide will unravel the importance of the mythology and history behind the some of the museum’s exquisite sculptures.

Take Your Time and Explore the Collections

After your tour is finished, feel free to walk around the museum or explore your favorite exhibit one more time. If you are continuing your night of fun, be sure to ask your guide about the best places to eat near the Louvre or about local nightlife to maximize your time in Paris.

Great tour with a great guide

First, I recommend the night tour because the outside of the Louvre is beautiful when lit up at night. Also, there is less of a crowd so you get to maneuver through the museum easier and take better pictures. Our tour guide (Ferit) was great. Learned everyone's names and made the tour much more personal. He was very knowledgeable about everything we saw. He was funny and entertaining while telling us about the history of the beautiful things we saw.
