Dress Code: Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended, as you’ll be walking on uneven terrain.
Accessibility: Due to uneven terrain and historic surfaces, this tour isn’t suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. A soft baby carrier is recommended. For guests with mobility concerns we recommend to consider joining our Private Colosseum Tour.
ID Requirement: A valid government-issued ID is required to enter the Colosseum. The name on your ticket must match your ID or entry may be denied.
Tour Changes: Depending on the assigned entry time for the Colosseum, your tour might enter the Roman Forum first and end in the Colosseum. It is also possible this tour might run in reverse. Either way, you’ll enjoy the full experience with your guide.
Children: All visitors, regardless of age, need a ticket for the Colosseum. Each child’s ticket must match their government-issued ID. Passports are recommended.
Disability certification: Visitors with valid disability certification are eligible for a reduced €2 entry ticket to the Colosseum, which also applies to one companion. Contact us after booking to arrange this. This applies to the ticket cost only, not the tour price.
Bag Policy: For quicker entry, please leave large backpacks and wheeled bags at your accommodation as they aren’t permitted inside the Colosseum. All bags will be screened at security.

Booking this tour was very straightforward, and all the essential details — meeting point, timings, ID requirements, and what to wear — were clearly provided in advance. The tour itself was extremely informative and engaging. It’s mind‑blowing to think the Colosseum was built in just eight years over 2,000 years ago, and that many of the features used back then are still part of modern stadium design. It was very hot during our visit, but our guide did an excellent job keeping us in the shade whenever possible and knew exactly where to stand to stay cool. Because of the heat, we didn’t climb Palatine Hill during the tour, though we were given the option to explore it afterwards — personally, I was quite relieved not to tackle the climb! I’d highly recommend this tour. It may feel a little long for younger children, but for adults it’s a fantastic way to experience the Colosseum and learn its history.
This was one of the best tours I have ever experienced. Our guide, Vanessa, was outstanding in every way. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to the group. Our tour was on a particularly hot day in Rome, and she went out of her way to find shade while giving us historical narratives. The sites were awesome, but she truly made the experience an excellent one!
Was a good tour. Information on the history was great. Would have liked a little more time in the Coliseum and to have walked by the middle on the lower level. Other it was a great tour and the guide was very conscious of keeping us in the shade with the heat.
Nina was a great guide! We learned so much and she did her best to keep the group in the shade as much as possible on the super hot August day in Rome. Loved this tour - totally worth it!
