Good to know:
Dress Code: Comfortable attire and shoes are recommended for walking on uneven terrain.
ID Requirement: Please bring a valid government-issued ID for entrance into the Colosseum. The name on your tickets (entered at check-out) must match the name listed on your government-issued ID or you will be refused entry.
Accessibility: As this is a private tour, the itinerary can be accommodated to be wheelchair or mobility accessible. Please contact us, after making the booking, to make the proper arrangements. The Colosseum has very steep stairs, if you expect to need to use the elevator on this tour, please contact us in advance, so the guide can prepare accordingly.
Stollers: We recommend a soft baby carrier over stroller due to the uneven terrain.
Tour Changes: Depending on the assigned entry time for the Colosseum, your tour might enter the Roman Forum first and end in the Colosseum. All Colosseum tours are subject to time change. Please keep the date of your tour flexible.
Children: All children, no matter the age, are required to have a ticket to enter the Colosseum. The name on the child's ticket must match the name listed on their government issued-ID or they will be refused entry. Passports are recommended as a form of ID.
Disability certification: As per Colosseum ticketing rules, guests who possess a disability certification may enter the Colosseum with a ticket cost of €2. This price also applies to one companion. A disability card must be presented to Colosseum staff on the day of the visit. If this applies to you or your party, please contact us after booking the tour to make the proper pricing adjustments and claim access to the disability entrance. Please note, this price applies to the cost of tickets, not the cost of the tour.
Bag Policy: The Colosseum allows small to medium-sized bags, but large backpacks, suitcases, and wheeled bags are prohibited and must be left behind. All bags are subject to security screening, similar to an airport.
Security Check: Every person entering the Colosseum, including those with pre-reserved tickets, is required to go through an airport style security check.

Raphaella was our guide today, for myself and my 11-year old twins; she was great! Firstly she was very knowledgeable, balancing a mix of interesting trivia which was geared toward my children and also serious historical information. Valentina was a wonderful tour guide. Of the 5 tour guides we had on our trip, many with more pricey operators (Context) she was the best. Valentina was very knowledgeable about her subjects (Colosseum, Forum) and willing to be flexible with us and our desire to see more (we went up to the terraces of the Palatine Hill). She was patient and very engaging with the kids. Valentina also was willing to be flexible and spend more than the allotted time with us to explain the full Forum and to help us with a lost item. Valentina does have a slight accent (& sometimes spoke quickly) so my younger daughter missed a couple things at the beginning before she got accustomed. The kids will never forget the details she shared on the types of rocks used to build the Colosseum, the elevators, arena floor, headstones, and- in the Forum- the spot where Julius Caesar was cremated. She was knowledgeable to answer every question they had. Thanks Valentina!

Do we get to visit the underground and arena floor of the Colosseum?
This tour takes you around the first and second tiers of the Colosseum. You'll have excellent views of the arena floor and down into the underground section, but this tour doesn't enter those sections of the Colosseum.
What if I don't see any availability?
If you are trying to make a booking up to two weeks in advance, the website will show no availability. However, feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What does pre-reserved tickets mean?
This tour includes a privileged entrance that let's you bypass the general admission entrance line. However, please keep in mind that every person entering the Colosseum, including those with pre-reserved tickets, is required to go through an airport style security check.
What age group is this tour for?
