Tour Itinerary

  • 1

Your tour begins at the Colosseum

Meet your guide and semi-private group near the base of Rome’s 2,000-year-old amphitheater. Your guide introduces the massive stone structure and the nearby Arch of Constantine. Learn how emperors used these grand monuments to show off their power to the people of Rome.
  • 2

    Enter the gladiators gate

Next, follow your guide through a mandatory security check before passing through the side entrance once used by the warriors themselves. Then, step onto the exclusive arena floor, the stage level of the Colosseum. Standing on the wooden floor, look up at the rows of seats and imagine the roar of 50,000 spectators watching the games.
  • 3

    Explore the upper tiers

Then, your guide leads you to the higher levels of the amphitheater for the audience perspective and an overhead view of the maze of underground chambers. From these tiers, learn how different social classes were seated in ancient Rome and where the most important leaders sat to watch.
  • 4

    Visit the Roman Forum

Follow your guide into the valley that served as the busy center of the ancient city. Walk past the remains of the Senate House and the Temple of the Vestal Virgins while hearing stories about the daily lives and politics of ancient Roman citizens.
  • 5

    Ascend the Palatine Hill

Finally, climb the hill where legends say the city was first founded. Among the ruins of the grand imperial palaces, enjoy some of the best views of the city. Discover why the most powerful Romans chose to live in this neighborhood.
  • 6

Your tour finishes at Palatine Hill

Your guided experience concludes among the gardens and ruins of the Palatine Hill. Feel free to ask your guide for directions and local recommendations before you leave.

Kim W., 02 April 2026

Seeing the colosseum and forum was amazing! Francesco took it to another level! His knowledge and ability to express his passion for the history made the tour! We had teens and younger children on the tour and he was the perfect guide to interact and involve them. He peaked not only their interest the entire duration of the tour but ours as well. We had a simply wonderful time, thank you Francesco!!!
