Wow what a terrific guide, Paula her name and a ball of energy! I’m guessing guides do the same tour often and could become rote but not the way with her. You’d have thought it was first … fresh fun attitude backed up with solid information. We are grandparents travelling with two teenage grandchildren. They enjoyed it as much as we did. We so enjoyed the food tour with Oscar as our host! He was a joy to hang out with - going to 4 different venues tasting different cured meats and cheese, wines, pastas and gelatos. He is so knowledgeable about all things Roman and the education he gave us was so appreciated! He helped us pronouncing Grazie correctly and I think of him every time I say it. LOL But seriously, he was the best welcome to Rome for our first visit and so glad we spent some time with him in Trastevere! My husband valued the fact that Oscar developed a rapport with the tourists and knew everyone’s name and something about them by the end of the night. It really enhanced the tour experience! It was a treat to experience true local establishments, and to learn nuances, preparation and origins of Italian food. Monica was an outstanding guide who was knowledgeable, attentive, entertaining and gracious, This food tour is a great way to experience Rome!
This was a great way to spend an evening. Our tour guide, Monika, did an excellent job, and we did feel like we got a nice introduction to some of the Roman staples, what to look for in a spot to eat, as well as a nice way of experiencing Campo di Fiore and Trastevere. We did hit up two of the spots on the tour again later in the trip to eat again. It was also a lot of fun talking to all of the other people in the small group, hearing about their trip and experiences, and just relaxing.
