1
Meet your guide on Victoria Embankment
Meet your historian guide and small group along the Victoria Embankment by the Thames. As you look toward Westminster, learn how this stretch of riverfront set the scene for air raids, speeches, and late-night decisions that shaped the course of World War II. -
2
Walk through Westminster and see Big Ben
As you follow your guide through Westminster’s streets and squares, you listen to how Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben fit into London’s wartime story. Outside 10 Downing Street and other key spots, you hear how leaders worked, argued, and made decisions here while the city faced nightly raids. -
3
Head underground into the Churchill War Rooms
Next, walk down into the Churchill War Rooms beneath Westminster. During the war, there was no sign of the bunkers below. After picking up an official audio guide, follow low corridors and tight workspaces that show how ministers and staff lived and worked here while London burned above. -
4
Follow the D-Day maps and planning rooms
Inside the Cabinet Room and Map Room, you stand in front of original wall maps and notes used to plan the D-Day invasion. Your audio guide walks you through the tiny pins and penciled updates that turned into huge movements across Europe. -
5
Peek into the bedrooms and wartime kitchen
Deeper in the bunker, you pass simple bedrooms, work desks, and the cramped kitchen that kept Churchill and his team going. You get a feel for long shifts, odd hours, and the mix of routine and tension that came with living underground. -
6
Your audio guided tour ends at the Churchill Museum
Your tour finishes in the Churchill Museum, where interactive exhibits and personal objects round out his story from young officer to wartime leader. After exploring the galleries at your own pace, you can head back up to street level or stay a little longer inside.

Customer Reviews
Nathan was a good guide through the streets of Westminster and luckily he avoided the paparazzi while on our tour.
We took the tour with Babs who gave a comprehensive history of Churchill and WWII. She’s an extraordinary guide who brought to life the man and his time. Highly recommend the tour - you will walk away with a new appreciation for the men and women who fought and the sacrifices they made. And if you get Babs as your guide consider yourself lucky as we did.
Our guide Jeremy was amazing! His stories and his quick wit brought the city alive! He was very knowledgeable and the first 1.5 hours in the city before going into the war rooms was a great bonus! Highly recommend !
