Your tour begins at the Colosseum
Meet your guide and small group of up to 10 people right outside Rome's 2,000-year-old amphitheater. With skip-the-line tickets in hand, you'll head straight inside.

Explore the first and second levels of the Colosseum
You'll step into the largest ancient amphitheater ever built and walk where gladiators once fought. Your guide brings the arena to life with stories of emperors, combat, and the ingenious engineering that made it all possible.

View the Arch of Constantine
Next, you'll pause at this massive triumphal arch commemorating Emperor Constantine's victory at the Battle of Milvian Bridge. Your guide explains the symbolism and history carved into its detailed reliefs.

Marvel at the Roman Forum from above
Then, you'll take in a sweeping view of the Forum from an elevated vantage point. Your guide highlights key ruins like the Temple of Venus and Rome, the Arch of Titus, and the Via Sacra (the ancient main street of the city).

Good to know:

Dress Code: Comfortable attire and shoes are recommended for walking on uneven terrain.
Accessibility: This tour involves ancient ground and uneven terrain. It is unfortunately not wheelchair or stroller accessible. A soft baby carrier is recommended.
ID Requirement: Please bring a valid government-issued ID for entrance into the Colosseum. The name on your tickets must match the name listed on your government-issued ID or you will be refused entry.
Tour Changes: Depending on the assigned entry time for the Colosseum, your tour might enter the Roman Forum first and end in the Colosseum.
Bag Policy: The Colosseum allows small to medium-sized bags, but large backpacks, suitcases, and wheeled bags are prohibited and must be left behind. All bags are subject to security screening, similar to an airport.
Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in at the meeting point so the group can enter sites on time.

Can I change the date or time of my booking?

Unfortunately, Colosseum tour bookings cannot be edited or canceled after purchase.

Is this tour refundable?

Our Semi-Private Colosseum Arena Floor Tour has a 72 hour cancellation policy.

What if I have concerns about my mobility on this tour?

Unfortunately, the sites visited on this tour are not wheelchair accessible. If you have any other concerns about your mobility, please contact us before booking this tour so that we can help determine if this tour is the right fit for you.

What happens if it rains?

We run our Colosseum tours rain or shine, and we ask that all guests please dress accordingly.

Is there any chance my tour might be canceled?

In the event of any unforeseen circumstances you will be offered an alternative date and time, or full refund. We suggest keeping your day open to accommodate time changes.

Is it possible The Tour Guy will change this tour time?

The meeting time and order of the itinerary may change, depending on the availability of the sites. If your meeting time does change, you will receive a call or a message from us. For this reason, please provide a correct phone number to reach you, including your country code.

Is there a dress code to enter any of the sites on this tour?

While there is no dress code to visit the sites on this itinerary, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate attire.

Do I get to visit the Arena floor with this tour?

No, this tour does not include Arena floor access.

Does the Colosseum ever experience sudden closures?

On rare, unforeseen occasions, the Colosseum might be closed. If this happens you will either be offered an alternative tour or a refund.

Is lunch included in the price of the tour?

Lunch is not included on this tour. However, your guide will be happy to recommend one of our favorite spots for after the tour, and your guide will be sure to point you in the right direction too.
