1
Meet your guide in central Rome
Your day begins bright and early in the heart of Rome, where your guide welcomes you aboard a comfortable coach. Settle in for a scenic drive north through the Italian countryside. -
2
Walk across the bridge to Civita di Bagnoregio
After roughly 2.5 hours, you'll arrive at the base of Civita di Bagnoregio, an ancient village perched on a crumbling volcanic plateau. Cross the dramatic pedestrian bridge that connects this isolated town to the modern world, with sweeping valley views on both sides. -
3
Wander through the "dying town"
Once inside, you'll explore narrow medieval lanes, stone archways, and quiet piazzas frozen in time. Your guide shares how erosion has slowly eaten away at the cliffs beneath this 2,500-year-old Etruscan settlement, earning it the nickname "the dying town." -
4
Pause for photos at panoramic viewpoints
Before leaving, take in sweeping views of the Tiber Valley and surrounding badlands from various lookout points. The scene is especially striking in morning light, when mist still clings to the eroded cliffs and cypress-dotted hills beyond. -
5
Travel to Montepulciano in Tuscany
Back on the coach, you'll continue into the rolling hills of southern Tuscany. By early afternoon, the Renaissance towers of Montepulciano come into view, signaling your arrival in one of Italy's most renowned wine towns. -
6
Enjoy a Tuscan lunch with six wine tastings
Descend into a centuries-old wine cellar where staff guide you through a traditional Tuscan meal paired with six local wines. Start with cured meats, cheeses, and bruschetta, followed by lasagna with Tuscan ragù, and finish with cantucci cookies dipped in sweet Vin Santo. -
7
Tour the wine cellar and taste Vino Nobile
Between courses, cellar staff explain how Montepulciano's signature Vino Nobile is aged in oak barrels deep underground. You'll also sample extra virgin olive oil and grappa, rounding out a full sensory tour of the region's flavors. -
8
Return to Rome in the early evening
With a belly full of wine and Tuscan comfort food, you'll board the coach for the journey back to Rome. A rest stop along the way gives everyone a chance to stretch before arriving back in the city by early evening. -
9
Your tour finishes in central Rome
The day wraps up where it began, right in the heart of Rome. You'll leave with stunning photos, new knowledge of Italian wine country, and the lingering taste of Tuscany on your lips.

Customer Reviews
I would like to shout out our guide Ana! The tour was an amazing way to get a true experience of Tuscany. Seeing the surrounding towns, learning about the local language and culture, as well as tasting the delicious food and wine! I purchased so many tasty treats to bring to my family back home! Cheers!
Great guides, and bus driver. Thoroughly enjoyed the day!!
Our one-day trip from Rome to Tuscany was a great experience overall. The planning and execution of the agenda were right on point—everything felt well-organized and thoughtfully timed, with no signs of improvisation. The tour delivered exactly what was promised when we booked it. Our main guide, Chiara, was lovely and helpful throughout the day. In Montepulciano, we were guided by Sarah, who impressed us with her knowledge and genuine passion for the history of the region. A special mention also goes to our driver, Tiziano—we always felt safe and comfortable on the road. The reason we gave the tour 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the lunch experience, which felt a bit disorganized. Some guests were served second helpings while others, including us, didn’t get the chance before our plates were cleared away. Additionally, while we really enjoyed the wine at the tasting, we missed the usual explanations that typically accompany such experiences. A short introduction or some background about the wines would have really enriched that part of the tour. That said, this tour is an excellent way to get to know Tuscany, especially for a first-time visit. We totally recommend it!
