Grand Canyon South Rim
Then on to the Grand Canyon—truly one of the most amazing sites not just in the United States but the world. The Grand Canyon is Arizona's pride and joy. It has long been listed as one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and you will get a chance to experience why that is true. Standing on the edge of the canyon will create a lasting impression and you'll know exactly why it's one of the most-visited parks in the US.
Despite the amazing vista from the South Rim, it's hard to imagine that it's 250 miles long, 18 miles wide, and over a whopping mile in depth. Still, you'll get a fabulous birds-eye view of most of that from the Rim Trail. The layers of rocks and sediment uncover the unseen history of the North American continent. You will have about 3 hours to walk along the Rim Trail, gaze upon its wonder, and take as many pictures as possible.
