Welcome to the Musée d'Orsay

To make the most of your two-hour tour, your excursion begins at the entrance to the Musée d'Orsay. Even before entering the museum, which is housed in the stunning former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux-Arts railway station, you’ll find an astonishing amount of architectural beauty to take in. However, with your skip-the-line tickets in hand, you’ll bypass the long line and head straight inside.

Discover the Revolutionary World of Impressionism

Boasting over 2,000 paintings, 600 sculptures, and hundreds of other works, Musée d'Orsay is an absolute treasure trove of art, and knowing where to find the most iconic pieces can prove to be a challenge. Luckily, with an expert guide by your side and a small group size that allows the tour to be catered to everyone’s interests, you’ll quickly be on your way to discovering must-see works.

Throughout the tour, you'll come face-to-face with iconic masterpieces like Van Gogh's 'Starry Night Over the Rhone,' Renoir's 'Bal du Moulin de la Galette,' and Manet's 'Olympia'. You'll also learn about the unique pointillism of Georges Seurat and lose yourself in the ethereal charm of Monet's atmospheric impressions.

Delve into the Lives of the Master Artists

Your tour isn't just about admiring these iconic works of art, though. Your guide will also delve into the stories behind the pieces and the life of the artists. Learn about the turbulent life and tragic death of Van Gogh, and listen as your guide depicts life in the Belle Époque (Beautiful Era) in which these brilliant artists lived and worked.

Feel free to ask questions and dig deeper into the meaning behind these emotional pieces. After all, it’s not every day you get to appreciate such impressive art in the company of fellow art lovers and a knowledgeable guide!

Small group. Would have preferred to have an ear piece. Crowded Museum but very doable with a guide. We had a fantastic guide who was able to captivate the group and explain the significance of each of the top paintings and sculptures beyond what I already knew.
