Customer Reviews
Ref: Booking #1041477, Semi- Private Express Louvre Tour I suggest that you give second thoughts if you are planning a tour with the “The Tour Guys” in which they sublet their tour to a subcontractor, especially “Uncle Sam Tours”. We booked two tours with them for our Paris trip. The first trip, in which they themselves conducted the tour, went well. However, their second tour (Semi- Private Express Louvre Tour) was supposed to be conducted by a guide of “Uncle Sam Tour”, and that turned out to be a disaster. It seems that the contractor’s guide decided to not show up on that day. Although we have no way of finding out what happened, but we think it was because we were the only clients booked on that day. When we could not find the tour guide at the meeting point at designated time, we called the “on the day of the tour” number of “Uncle Sam Tours” but no one picked up the phone. Later, we complained and requested a full refund of our tickets from “The Tour Guy”, but they put the blame on us and said that we did not show up at the appropriate place in time, although we were searching for the guide at the meeting point since much before the designated time. At the end, after we sent pictures and text correspondences to prove that we did search for the tour operators at the meeting point at the appropriate time, and after a lot of correspondences with “The Tour Guys”, they did refund half the ticket amount to us. However, ultimately, we missed the Louvre museum visit during our Paris trip.
Our tour guide, Mo, did a fantastic job at showing our group the highlights, just what the tour was billed as. She was very knowledgeable and organized. It’s not easy moving a group of people through a crowd of people while explaining buildings, architecture and artwork. And she didn’t lose anyone!!
Any visit to the Louvre is wonderful, but our guide Sid made it fun, educational so the day was even more amazing. Sid used humor to engage every member of the tour group, while making sure we saw And understood backgrounds of great exhibits.
Our guide Sylvia was very helpful during our visit. Communication was given in advance to help navigate the busy outside area to meet. This experience gave us more information than we expected regarding educating us on venue as well as art history.
First of all, if you are ever in Paris, this is ABSOLUTELY WORTH TAKING. It will show you SO MUCH in such a SHORT amount of time.
