Jonny gave a very insightful and entertaining Jack the Ripper tour. He lead us on a journey, taking us back to the 1880's and how tough life was and what it took to survive or ... Jonny regaled us with stories of the lives of the innocent women who become the Ripper's victims and ended with some possible culprits. Highly recommend this tour.
Our guide, Ben, was genuinely the reason this tour stood out from everything else we did in London. He had this incredible ability to build tension before revealing each piece of the story, pausing at just the right moments and lowering his voice so the whole group would lean in without even realizing it. You could tell within the first five minutes that he had studied this history for years, not just memorized a script, because he answered every random question someone threw at him without missing a beat. He also had a great sense of humor that kept things from getting too heavy, which I appreciated given the subject matter. By the end of the night our whole group was chatting with him like we had known him for ages, and honestly I would go on another tour again just to have him as our guide.

I was a bit hesitant about doing a walking tour at night but this completely changed my mind. The atmosphere in Whitechapel after dark added so much to the storytelling and our guide had this wonderful way of building suspense before revealing each part of the history. We stopped at several original locations connected to the case and the guide had old photographs and documents to show us along the way which made everything feel very real. By the final stop our whole group was fully invested in trying to solve the mystery alongside the guide.
A wonderful experience with a very passionate guide who clearly loves this subject.
