Your adventure kicks off bright and early at Victoria Coach Station—although, we recommend arriving 30 minutes early to give yourself plenty of time to grab a coffee and find your way to ‘Gate 18-20’. Then, after a quick meet-and-greet with your guide and fellow travelers, hop on board a comfortable, air-conditioned coach and prepare for a delightful drive through the idyllic English countryside to the Cotswolds.
Burford
After a scenic 90-minute drive, you’ll roll into Burford, fondly known as the "Gateway to the Cotswolds." Once the coach has parked, it’s time to stretch those legs and follow your guide to the village’s main attraction—its historic high street. Here, a row of honey-colored stone buildings hint at the region’s medieval past, and thanks to your guide’s expert knowledge, you’ll learn how the village’s wealth and prosperity are closely tied to the Cotswold wool trade. As you explore, you’ll also find lovely tea rooms and unique shops perfect for picking up a souvenir. And make sure to visit the magnificent St. John the Baptist Church, which has stood proudly in the village for centuries
Lunch in Bibury
With appetites building, you'll be glad to know it's just a quick 20-minute ride to Bibury for a well-deserved lunch. At the heart of this postcard-perfect village, you’ll find the Swan Hotel—a 17th-century coach inn that served as a rest stop for travelers journeying through the Cotswolds. Even today the inn oozes old-world charm, and your two-course lunch will be no exception. With a menu that changes with the seasons, you’ll get to savor the best of local produce with a bit of a modern twist. And here’s a little tip: after lunch, take a stroll through the hotel’s lovely gardens—they’re an absolute gem!
Northern Cotswolds
After lunch, enjoy a leisurely drive through the Northern Cotswolds, where the charm of the English countryside truly comes to life. As your coach winds through quaint villages, you’ll be treated to views of thatched cottages and historic churches. Then, just when you think it can’t get any more captivating, you’ll find yourself in Stow-on-the-Wold. Perched atop an 800-foot hill, this bustling market town is the perfect place to hop out for a short walking tour. Follow your guide’s lead to the town’s medieval Market Square and visit St. Edward’s Church, famous for its unique yew tree-flanked doorway.
Return to London
As the day winds down, it’s time to cozy up in your seat for the relaxing drive back to London. You’ll pass by rolling hills and sleepy villages, giving you one last look at the peaceful countryside before re-entering the buzz of the city. We hope you enjoyed your little escape to the Cotswolds!
