Meet at Piazza dell’Unità Italiana
Your journey begins at the Piazza dell’Unità Italiana in Florence, where you’ll meet your guide and fellow group members for the day. This historic square is well-connected to the rest of the city and is the perfect spot to take in a bit of Italian architectural charm before hopping on board an air-conditioned coach. Sit back and relax as you journey out of the city and along the breathtaking Italian coast.
Discover Monterosso
Your first destination is Monterosso, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages, and upon arrival, you’ll immediately be awestruck by its beautiful beaches, lush vineyards, and vibrant historical architecture. For those looking to explore the winding coastline on foot, you can join your guide for a light 45-minute hike. Meander through charming vineyards and alongside ancient olive groves while learning about the region's landscapes and storied past.
Those passing on the hike may decide to savor the delightful flavors of Ligurian cuisine during a long lunch featuring fresh seafood and aromatic herbs. Other options include relaxing at Fegina Beach, wandering enchanting streets filled with boutique stores, and enjoying decadent ice cream along the promenade. Plus, with plenty of time in Monterosso, you could even do a mix of all the above if you please!
Spend Time in Manarola
After meeting back up with the group and embarking on a short but scenic 14-minute train ride, you’ll have arrived at your next destination–Manarola. The oldest town of Cinque Terre, you’ll no doubt be amazed by the beautiful contrast of sheer rock cliffs, colorful boats, and friendly locals. If you haven’t enjoyed lunch yet, don’t miss the chance to try the region's highly prized pesto at one of the many scenic restaurants. Afterward, immerse yourself in the town's enchanting labyrinth of narrow lanes, many leading to a spectacular panorama.
Tour Pisa
Next, your journey continues to the enchanting city of Pisa. The highlight, of course, is the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, and thanks to your guide’s expert knowledge, you’ll learn how this extraordinary bell tower became a worldwide symbol due to its unintended tilt, a result of the unstable foundation it was built upon. Yet, Pisa offers more than just its leaning tower, and during your tour today, you’ll also have time to admire other highlights, such as the majestic Cathedral and the ornate Baptistry, set in the picturesque Field of Miracles.
To round off your Pisa experience, don't miss the opportunity to savor some authentic Ligurian flavors, including the region's renowned pesto. Then, with your day coming to an end, settle in for a relaxing journey back to Florence where you'll be dropped off at the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Thanks for joining!
