Historic Siena
Your first stop on this Tuscany day trip is the famous city of Siena. Twice a year, the city holds the famous Palio horse race that has been run since the Middle Ages in Siena's central square, Piazza del Campo. Along with your knowledgeable trip leader, you'll see this famous square and the oldest bank in the world. After getting oriented in Siena, you'll have some free time to explore, and we recommend purchasing a ticket to visit the Siena Cathedral on your own.
Chianti Winery for Lunch and Wine Tasting
Continue your journey through the Chianti hills and olive groves, before arriving at a traditional family-run farm and winery. You'll learn from the locals about famous grapes and the winemaking process from vine to bottle, before sampling them yourself!
Then sit down for a delicious lunch made from locally grown ingredients from the farm, staying true to the Italian slow food movement and traditions of Tuscan cuisine. Lunch and wine are included, and it's easy to order a few extra bottles to take home with you too!
Medieval San Gimignano
The next stop on your Tuscan journey is an incredible little town, sometimes nicknamed “Medieval Manhattan.” As a UNESCO World Heritage site that feels straight out of a fairy tale, San Gimignano is known for the towers that create its iconic skyline, bringing to mind modern day skyscrapers. Once inside the city walls, enjoy some free time to explore this remarkable and historic town.
Chianti Region to Florence

Sara, our guide, was AMAZING. She did such a great job of answering our questions and pointing us in the right direction for our tour. I loved the style of this tour, which was more self-guided once we got into both Siena and San Gimigniano, I liked having the flexibility to go see the Duomo and explore the city rather than a rigid schedule with little time for exploring. The wine tasting was AMAZING - incredible wines and delicious food to accompany, and the tour of the winery & vineyard was really fun to see how they process the wine prior to bottling. Finally, San Gimignano was gorgeous, I'm glad I got to explore it for a little bit before we returned to Florence.

It was a fantastic day full of fun and adventure. Best tour yet. The tour guide “Valili” was spot on and very helpful. Wine tasting was so much fun and very informative. I would do again in a heartbeat!
Fun day lunch really small

We had a very enjoyable day. We traveled with 11 people so the size was perfect. We traveled in two 6 passenger vans, which was much nicer than a bus. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had a lot of fun as a group. My only complaint is that the lunch is very small. We received three meat and cheese trays for 11 people. We all felt there should have been one more. We were then served a half portion of spaghetti with tomato sauce. We were all shocked that there wasn’t another course before the dessert. We all had to eat at the next stop. For the price, the lunch should have been more substantial. Despite that, we enjoyed the day.
