Your local guide will be waiting outside the station to greet you and the rest of your group of fellow travel lovers. After being escorted onto your air-conditioned coach, sit back and relax as you’re transported to the medieval city of Siena. Your magical day in Tuscany begins with an early wake-up call, but it will be well worth it! At 7:45 am, meet your friendly guide and the rest of your group of enthusiastic travelers outside of the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence.
Your helpful guide will show you to your air-conditioned coach. Enjoy a comfortable ride out of the city as you make your way to your first enchanting stop of the day.
Take a Walking Tour Through Siena
Before long, you will arrive in the medieval city of Siena. Begin with an immersive walking tour of the historic city, as your expert guide leads the way. Visit the oldest bank in the world and marvel at the vibrant Piazza del Campo. From here, follow your guide into the breathtaking Duomo di Siena. Admire the intricate details of the cathedral’s architecture, as well as the mesmerizing artwork that lines its interior walls.
Following your visit inside the city’s treasured cathedral, enjoy free time to explore the charming streets of Siena at your leisure. Spend your time shopping at local boutiques or enjoy an espresso at one of the many open-air cafes in the piazza. The choice is yours!
Enjoy Lunch at a Chianti Vineyard
After departing Siena, you’ll be driven to an idyllic, family-run winery in Chianti. Here, you’ll be treated to a traditional Tuscan lunch. Depending on the seasonality of ingredients, you will indulge in homemade pasta, prosciutto and salami, local cheeses, a delicious garden salad and a classic, Tuscan dessert like cantucci cookies. Everything will be made from fresh, organic farm produce and will of course be accompanied by wine! Along with your lunch, you will be sampling local wines such as Chianti, Vernaccia, and Vin Santo, a Tuscan dessert wine.
After a mouthwatering lunch and some time to take pictures of the magnificent property, it will be time to move on to your next stop.
Wander Through San Gimignano
Walk off your decadent lunch by exploring the majestic, hilltop town of San Gimignano. Enjoy free time to explore the delightful town at your leisure, and make sure to have your camera handy. Wander through narrow streets and lively squares as you peruse local shops --be sure to visit one of the town’s famous medieval towers before leaving!
Take a Scenic Drive to Pisa
Take the scenic route to your last stop of the tour, winding through the verdant, rolling hills of Tuscany, you’ll finally arrive in the beautiful city of Pisa. Wander to the Cathedral and Baptistery before marveling at the legendary Leaning Tower of Pisa from the outside.
Before departing, learn more about this fascinating city on a quick tour of Pisa’s historic center at your leisure. Afterwards, it's time to hop back on your coach and return to Florence. We enjoyed our day in Tuscany with Mirella. She was well educated about the area and very happy and friendly. She tried to help us to think positive about the rainy day and it worked, the rain passed over. She was very accommodating as well. The tour was informative and enjoyable. The food for lunch was tasty., but not over the top. There was plenty of everything except salad. They brought 2nds on everything but didn’t refill the salad bowl and it was empty by the time it got to me. A couple of suggestions: I think an adult only option would be a good thing. Most of the people on our tour had raised their kids. While the 2 children in our group were not “bad” they were still noisy children and Babies cry. That’s what they do. Fortunately I didn’t have to sit right next to them. While I enjoyed each town, I feel like most people thought the day was a bit too long and that lunch was rushed. I think 2 towns and a vineyard would be plenty or maybe even 2 towns and another close by vineyard that didn’t require much time to drive to. Another suggestion is for the vineyard providing lunch and wine. It would have been good to have been served the wine. Some tables left large amounts in bottles and some people would have definitely drank another glass. All in all it was a fun trip.

What if I have concerns about my mobility on this tour?
Unfortunately, due to the uneven and steep surfaces in the locations we will be visiting, this day trip to Tuscany is not suitable for wheelchair users or those who may have trouble walking.
What happens if it rains?
We run our Tuscany day trips rain or shine. In the case of extreme weather conditions, cancellations may occur, and a full refund will be provided.
Is there any chance my tour might be canceled?
On the rare occasion the tour is canceled, we'll inform you as soon as possible. We will work with you to reschedule your tour when possible or provide a full refund.
Is there a dress code to enter the religious sites on this tour?
Both men and women are required to cover their knees and shoulders, otherwise, the Cathedral in Siena may refuse entry and you’ll miss out on a portion of your tour. We understand the summers in Tuscany can be hot, so a great alternative is to bring a shawl/scarf/sweater with you. That way you can cover your knees and shoulders when necessary.
How comprehensive is this tour of Tuscany?
In the spirit of seeing as much of Tuscany in one day as possible, the time spent in Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa are abbreviated compared to our private tours to each of these areas. You'll still get to experience all the most important elements of these impressive towns and cities.
Does the Duomo in Siena ever experience sudden closures?
Yes, at times the Duomo in Siena will be closed for religious services. If this is the case during your tour, you will visit the beautiful Santa Maria della Scala Museum instead.
Are tickets to the Leaning Tower of Pisa included?
Tickets to the Leaning Tower of Pisa are not included in the price paid. In case you wish to add them, please let us know and we will do our best to secure them for you.
Is lunch included in the price of the tour?
Yes, a delicious Tuscan lunch at the wine estate is included!
What if I have food allergies, intolerances, or other dietary requirements?
Not a problem at all, vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available. Please contact us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your needs. We will work with our tour partners to provide you with an alternative when possible.
How many glasses of wine will I get?
You'll enjoy at least 4 different wine varieties during your wine tasting. In addition to your tasting, wine will also be served with lunch.
What if I don’t drink alcohol but I’d still like to join a food tour?
Not a problem. Please let us know in the comment box when you book your tour so we can make sure an alternative drink is provided.
Can I bring my kids and do I have to pay for them?
Kids are welcome on this tour, and children aged 8-17 pay a reduced fee. Children 7 and under may join for free. Please choose accordingly during the booking.
Does this tour include hotel pickup?
No hotel pickup is included on this tour. You’ll meet your guide at the designated meeting point, conveniently located in Piazza Stazione.
Where does this tour end?
This tour ends back at your original meeting point in Florence, in Piazza della Stazione.
