Your adventure begins bright and early at a designated meeting spot in Barcelona, where you'll meet your guide and fellow group members and start making your way to the Natural Park of Montserrat. Along the way, watch for the grandeur of Paseo de Gracia, the Royal Palace of Pedralbes, and the Sportive City of FC Barcelona while your friendly guide shares intriguing stories about the city's past and present.

Then, as urban landscapes transition to picturesque countryside, you’ll know you’re getting close to your first destination. The Montserrat mountain range will slowly dominate the horizon and set the scene for your splendid adventure ahead.

Horseback Riding Experience

One of the best ways to take in the beauty of Natural Park of Montserrat is on horseback, which is exactly what you’ll be gearing up to do this morning. After stretching your legs and taking in your surroundings, you’ll be given a quick but thorough briefing. Then, meet your horse, don your helmet, and follow your expert guide on a memorable ride through the park. And if this is your first time horseback riding or you have limited experience, don’t worry. This activity is perfect for beginners and experts alike and promises to be an amusing time for everyone.

Monastery of Montserrat

Following your hour-long horseback riding adventure, you’ll refresh during a quick drive to Montserrat, where another splendid adventure awaits. Take in the impressive Monastery of Montserrat, perched high in the mountains, and enjoy enthralling tales of its rich history and present-day use as told by your guide.

During your visit to the Monastery, you’ll also learn about the lifestyle of the 70+ monks who live here today and have a chance to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat. Those lucky may even have a chance to spot La Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia, who frequents the Monastery.

Free Time and Return to Barcelona

Before hopping back in your comfortable bus, enjoy free time at the Monastery. Whether it's shopping for souvenirs, savoring local flavors at the cafeteria, or simply marveling at the views, Montserrat ensures you're spoiled for choice. Then, after soaking in the mountain's magic, you'll return to Barcelona. Expect to be back by 2:30 pm, which frees up your late afternoon and evening for more grand adventures.

Overall it was a nice half day tour. We started with horseback riding, Laura was a wonderful guide with the horses . it was gorgeous and picturesque. We were then transferred to Monserrat where we met up with our guide Lucas. He was fine, provided a brief history of the area and Monastery but then we only had 20 min to explore on our own (all in all less than an hour there which felt a bit too short for us.
