Day 1 - Meet at Montevarchi Train Station
Your three-day Tuscany getaway begins with your arrival at the Montevarchi train station, conveniently reachable via a direct hour-long train ride from Florence and from Rome. From here, a friendly driver will be waiting for you to begin your 40-minute scenic transfer to the enchanting Borgo Casa al Vento — a small medieval village thoughtfully restored to offer an authentic taste of Tuscany. Over the next two nights, one of the best places to stay in Tuscany will be your home, with your room featuring exposed wooden beams, a stone fireplace, and your own outdoor space to enjoy.
Day 1 - Private Wine Tour
After dropping your bags in your room, it's time to delve into the rich wine-making traditions of Tuscany with a private wine tour. Throughout, you’ll discover the winemaker’s passion, love, and dedication to tradition and how every step of the winemaking process reflects the winery’s commitment to quality. Wander through the vineyards, noting how the gentle slopes create the perfect environment for growing grapes, and tune in as your expert guide provides insights into the art and science behind each bottle. No wine tour is complete without tastings, and during your outing, you’ll have the opportunity to sample a premium selection, along with fresh bread and a selection of meats and cheeses.
Day 1 - Free Time & Dinner
Now that you've been formally introduced to the region's wine, it's time to unwind and soak up your surroundings. Whether you choose to stroll through the vineyards, explore the grounds, relax by the swimming pool, or curl up in your cozy bed with a book, you'll find that the stress of everyday life melts away amidst the gentle sounds of the countryside.
Then, as the daylight fades, it’s time for a delightful dinner at the estate’s restaurant, Osteria del Borgo. Thanks to the expert on-site chef, you can look forward to indulging in dishes that pay homage to the region’s natural ingredients. After all, the restaurant showcases exquisite farm-to-table cuisine, meaning that the produce and meat come straight from the property. Even the Sangiovese wine you’ll be sipping comes straight from the vineyard.
Day 2 - Spa Session
Waking up to the picturesque Tuscan landscape promises to be a memory you’ll always cherish, and your day only gets better from here. Begin your morning with a casual farm-to-table breakfast, including local fruits and vegetables, coffee, and regional specialties.
After breakfast, it’s time to begin your 45-minute spa session. If you’ve never experienced a wine spa before, you’re in for the ultimate treat in relaxation. This hydromassage, which involves soaking in a bath filled with wine extracts, helps soothe your senses and ease muscle tension.
Day 2 - Private Cooking Class with Lunch
Next, with a private cooking class on the agenda, it’s time to shift your attention back to Tuscan cuisine. Led by a skilled chef, this hands-on experience introduces you to the secrets of crafting traditional dishes — from kneading dough for fresh pasta with a wild boar ragu to mastering the art of creating the perfect tiramisu. Then, when you’ve wrapped up the cooking, sit down for a leisurely lunch, accompanied by fine Tuscan wine.
Day 2 - Dinner
Take some time to unwind after your cooking class, as tonight you’ll want to have your appetite brimming for another remarkable dinner. With an ever-changing seasonal menu dedicated to tradition, you’ll discover more of Tuscany’s renowned flavors, cooked to perfection with farm-fresh ingredients and served alongside fine wine. There’s no need to hurry here, so linger as long as you’d like to enjoy the restaurant’s cozy ambiance before retreating to your room for a restful night.
Day 3 - Breakfast and Return to Montevarchi Train Station
As the sun rises over the tranquil Tuscan countryside, enjoy a leisurely morning and savor one last farm-to-table breakfast before packing your bags. If time allows, head out for another stroll through the village and visit the cellar door to purchase the perfect memento of your time here. Then, settle in for a journey back to the Montevarchi train station, where you'll catch a train back to your next destination. Until your next visit, arrivederci!
