Monteriggioni: A Medieval Masterpiece
Your day begins as you board a high-speed train at Rome Termini, and in just 90 minutes, you're in Florence starting to weave through Tuscany. You will meet your official Tour leader in Florence, and board a bus to begin your adventure. The first stop is Monteriggioni, a perfectly preserved medieval jewel. Here, you'll walk along ancient circular walls and gaze out at the rolling Chianti hills and sprawling vineyards.
Siena: A City of Splendor
Next, you'll travel to Siena's UNESCO-listed center. Your guide will lead you on a tour through narrow, winding alleys until you emerge into the magnificent Piazza del Campo. Take a moment to admire the soaring Torre dei Mangia. Then enjoy free time to grab a traditional Tuscan lunch in a nearby osteria. Please note, lunch is not included.
San Gimignano: The City of Towers
As the sun climbs higher, you’ll arrive in the iconic San Gimignano, famously known as the “City of Towers.” You can walk beneath the slim stone giants that once symbolized family wealth and power. You can also browse local workshops to discover saffron, Vernaccia wines, and handcrafted pottery.
Chianti Wine Tasting: The Perfect Finale
The afternoon concludes in the heart of Chianti country. You'll gather at a lovely winery for a tutored tasting of Chianti Classico. Your tasting includes perfect pairings with bruschetta topped with tangy pecorino and artisanal salumi. You’ll also learn about the Sangiovese grape and family-run traditions that have endured for generations.
Breathe in the tranquil air of the Tuscan countryside and let yourself be immersed in its history and beauty. At the end of your tour, you will be dropped off at the train station for your high-speed return back to Roma Termini train station.
