Early departure from Rome

Your full-day adventure begins bright and early at Rome's Piazza del Popolo, where you’ll meet your friendly guide and fellow travelers. Hop aboard a comfortable air-conditioned bus and settle in for a picturesque journey through the rolling hills and vineyards of the Roman countryside to Pompeii. You know you’re getting close when Mount Vesuvius, the famous volcano that erupted in 79 AD and buried the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, stands prominently before you.

Ponder the secrets of Pompeii

With skip-the-line tickets in hand, follow your archaeologist guide straight into the frozen-in-time ruins of Pompeii. Walk past old bakeries and villas, stand amid once-bustling marketplaces, and tune in as your guide shares insights into the Forum and the Amphitheater. Strolling among the remnants, you'll find yourself imagining the bustling life of this once-thriving Roman city, silenced and lost to memory for over a millennium and a half.

Explore the idyllic Amalfi Coast

Leaving Pompeii, your journey continues along the cliff-hugging roads of the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast. Famed for its dramatic landscapes, picturesque villages, and azure seas, the Amalfi Coast is truly one of the places you must see to fully appreciate its splendor. And one of its finest gems, although technically overlooking the Bay of Naples, is Sorrento. Here, you’ll hop out for an immersive walking tour, leading you through narrow cobblestone streets, past colorful fishing boats bobbing in Marina Grande, and to lookouts famed for their views of the Bay of Naples and Capri.

Limoncello tasting and return journey

As your Sorrento walking tour nears its end, there’s only one thing left to do—indulge in a delightful limoncello tasting. This sweet, zesty liqueur is made with the region’s larger, fragrant lemons that are lovingly grown on the surrounding terraced cliffs. Cheers to your fellow adventures and superb guide for the day; then, make your way back to the coach for a return journey to Rome. Expect to arrive back at Piazza del Popolo around 8 pm, buzzing from a day rich in history, beauty, and local flavors. Thanks for joining and arrivederci!

Amalfi Coast and Pompeii Tour
Danny Gray Sapp, 26 September 2025

This was the best part of our week. Sorrento is absolutely beautiful and alit of fun to walk around. Pompeii was an amazing place to see. Our guide, Antonio and the bus driver…Enrique were awesome. He went out if his way to provide a ton of information to make the trip special. Very much appreciated!

Pompeii/Sorrento trip was good. Our guide was Pari. She was ok. But in general the quality of guides in Italy is much lower than in other countries. They do not try. They don’t make sure to annunciate, and the quality of material is very basic. The bar is low so when u meet a good, professional guide, you really know it. And these guys were not it. It was adequate but not great. A lot of time and effort is spent on explaining the logistics, time and places to meet up etc. I feel like it can be done better in this day and age. Like they can drop all the pins in the app instead of telling us where to meet up and us writing down the names of plazas, streets to meet up at and times. Also, if I would do it again I would probably choose to see Positano, not Sorrento. It may be less chaotic and even more beautiful. Sorrento was nice but not as spectacular as I hoped. Our Local tour guy in Pompeii was very good though. No complaints. Overall it was just ok. Finding the place to meet up was fine. There is a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes especially in Pompeii.

Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Full Day Tour from ROME
Tracy Spencer, 10 September 2025

Natascia did a really great job of laying out the exceptions for the day as it came. Her narration on the comfortable and air conditioned bus put context to what we were seeing. The views were breathtaking and visiting the Limoncello di Capri factory was a delightful surprise where you can experience a quick sampling of their products to purchase. Sorrento is a breathtaking town on the coast that allows you to grab some souvenirs. We were then handed over to Alessandro who kept our interest which the highlights of Pompeii. We were also given the opporturnity to purchase lunch and it was an eventful day. We did two tours with the Tour Guy, and two others with competitors. I felt that they were much more organized, enthusiastic about what they were sharing, and very detailed directions on the meet up point allowed first timers in Rome ease in getting there. It really took the guesswork out of planning and transportation. It was worth the expense.

Agenda was Changed
Angela Mick, 06 September 2025

We chose this tour because we wanted to visit Pompeii and were spending the night in Sorrento. The agenda when we purchased was Pompeii and ending in Sorrento. When we got on the bus the guide explained it would be Sorrento first and then Pompeii, so we were unable to visit Pompeii as we planned for and paid for.
