Your adventure starts promptly am in front of the São Bento train station, where you'll meet your guide and fellow wine enthusiasts. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes early, which ensures you’ll have time to settle in on the comfortable minibus and venture out of the city before the hustle and bustle of city life begins.

Soon, you'll be immersed in the lush, green valleys and vineyards that define the Douro region, and thanks to your expert guide, you can look forward to insights into this UNECSO-listed wine region. After all, Douro Valley is recognized worldwide for its winemaking heritage and centuries-old tradition of port wine.

Superb Wine & Lunch in Pinhão

After a two-hour scenic drive, you’ll arrive in the charming village of Pinhão. Here, nestled among terraced hillsides, you'll be treated to your first wine tasting at one of the Douro's prestigious estates. Discover the unique flavors of three local wines and learn about the winemaking process that brings out their unique notes and aromas.

It’s not all about the wine, though. During your visit to this family-owned estate, you’ll be treated to a traditional Portuguese lunch—with each dish carefully paired with Douro wines. Overlooking the vineyards and enjoying the company of your small group, you’ll undoubtedly feel like you’ve landed yourself in a wine-lovers paradise.

Cruise Douro River

Post-lunch, your journey continues with a serene 45-minute cruise along the Douro River. As you glide gently downstream, savor majestic views of the Douro Valley's terraced vineyards. Depending on the day, you'll explore Quinta da Roeda (Croft/Taylor's Group) or Quinta São Luiz (Kopke/Calém Group) and taste three more wines. Feel free to visit the cellar door to purchase wine as a memento to your fantastic day out, as soon, you'll board the minibus for a comfortable journey back to Porto. Your day out then wraps up with your arrival back at the São Bento train station at approximately 6 pm, ensuring you have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your evening in Porto. Tchau!

I had the pleasure of going on an amazing small group tour of the Douro Valley with The Tour Guy. We had a beautiful day visiting Portugues wineries and learning about the history of the Douro Valley, which is the oldest wine region in the world. We got to taste various wines, had a hearty lunch and made a stop for a river cruise and learned about the local villages along the way. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal! 5/5

You will meet your guide and group at Rua de Mouzinho da Silveira 352 4050-418 Porto in front of Train Station São Bento. The enfing point is Rua de Alexandre Herculano, 4000-053 Porto

We suggest wearing comfortable shoes, and dressing according to the season. Please also bring a valid ID and a thirst for wine knowledge!

Yes, everyone is welcome on our Douro Valley wine tasting and river cruise tour. We offer reduced rates for children (aged 4 to 12) and infants (0 to 3) are free. Please choose accordingly when booking
