Enjoy a walking tour of Naples oldest markets, where you can dine on the famous street food of which Neapolitans are so proud.

  • Local English-speaking foodie guide

  • Six stops throughout the Pignasecca market in Montesanto

  • Walking tour of Montesanto neighborhood

  • Food at each stop, plus one espresso and limoncello included

  • Maximum group size of 15

Vegetarian options are available at most stops! Let us know in advance about any dietary preferences, and we’ll do our best to make your experience delicious and enjoyable.

Freshly Caught, Fried Seafood

You'll first head over to the famous fish market where you'll see the catches of the day right from the bay. Enjoy the cuoppo fritto, or fried cone, a mouthwatering sampling of fried shrimp, calamari, and swordfish.

Taralli and Spritz: A True Neapolitan Treat

Naples is renowned for its pizza, but its street food traditions go far beyond the classic margherita. During your stroll, your guide will introduce you to artisanal Neapolitan taralli: crispy, crumbly delights enriched with almonds and black pepper. Paired with a refreshing spritz, these savory snacks make for the perfect break as you soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the local market.

Locally Cured Meats and Cheeses

After wandering the streets and learning about Naples' food culture, your guide will bring the group to a tasty stop for something a bit lighter: A local antipasto plate. Enjoy traditional salami, ricotta from the nearby mountains, fresh buffalo mozzarella, fior di latte (flower of the milk) mozzarella, and tasty taralli (like a breadstick cracker).

Try RagĂą Meatballs and Local Frittatina

You’ll be enjoying delicious meatballs in a rich ragù sauce and the classic Neapolitan frittatina. This amazing street food is basically a deep-fried pasta cake filled with creamy béchamel, diced ham, cheese, and sometimes peas, all wrapped in a crispy golden breadcrumb coating. It’s crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside—pure Naples comfort food!

Your Choice of a Delicious Pastry or Gelato

After a mix of savory delights, it's time for dessert: step into an amazing bakery and take in the wonderful aroma of freshly baked treats. Choose your favorite from classics like cannoli, babà, sfogliatelle, and more. Or, if you're in the mood for something cool and creamy, go for authentic Italian gelato. Your guide will be happy to share their favorite treat—maybe you'll discover a new favorite too!

Espresso and Limoncello

The tour ends the way all Italian meals should—with an espresso and a limoncello. Enjoy your coffee with a locally produced limoncello from the famous giant lemons found in Sorrento and along the Amalfi Coast. Finally, your guide will share with you the Neapolitan tradition of donating coffee to the less fortunate. It's a practice known as "caffè sospeso" and is a great way to finish off your Naples food tour.

Good experience
Amanda S., 23 November 2024

Selene clearly loves her home of Naples. Hubby and I were really looking forward to sampling some local dishes and hearing some great stories about Naples but the food options were not what was listed in the tour breakdown. We purposely didn’t try anything some main dishes during the day because we thought we were getting it on the tour. So missed out on fried pizza, seafood, lambredotto, rum baba, nearly everything that was listed. And felt a bit rushed at the end to get to each destination. And we were only there for the afternoon. Selene was great to run a tour in English and Spanish though. I imagine it’s pretty tiring repeating yourself in two languages.
