1
Your tour begins at Milan Stazione Centrale
Meet your English-speaking guide at Milan Stazione Centrale and board an air-conditioned coach. As Milan slips away, feel the landscape soften into foothills and lake country. -
2
Soak up Como’s historic center with your guide
Arriving in Como, step into graceful piazzas and old streets shaped by the city’s silk-making past. Listen as your guide shares insight into the towns architecture and the daily local routine in this lakeside city. -
3
Glide across Lake Como by private boat
Next, take a cruise on Lake Como on a private boat and drink in the views; mountains rising behind, waterfront gardens and grand villas tucked into the shoreline. Float past highlights like Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta as the lake air sharpens and becomes crisp. -
4
Linger in Varenna’s waterfront calm (April–October)
In season, arrive in Varenna and wander the colorful edge of the water. Relax on a stroll through Passeggiata degli Innamorati, or "Lovers' Walk," a red-railed walking path suspended over Lake Como. Pause for photos, or sink into a lakeside bench while the boats float along the horizon. -
5
Drift to Bellagio by public ferry
Then step aboard a public ferry to head to Bellagio. Watch the shoreline fold into coves and steep green slopes as the boat pulls away. The approach to Bellagio builds anticipation, with wide-open lake panoramas and villa views that keep pulling your eyes back to the water. -
6
Savor free time in Bellagio
Once ashore, lose yourself in Bellagio’s steep lanes, boutiques, and café terraces. Enjoy free time to chase a perfect viewpoint, taste something local over lunch, or simply take in the town’s polished, lakeside elegance. -
7
Breathe in Como’s waterfront before heading back
Then, return to Como and stroll the promenade for a final look at the lake’s shifting light. Grab an espresso, browse for a small souvenir, and soak in the view before re-boarding the coach. -
8
Your tour ends at Milan Stazione Centrale
After the ride back, arrive at Milan Stazione Centrale with your gallery full and your senses reset by lake air and mountain scenery. From here, it’s easy to head into the city for dinner or return to your accommodation.

Customer Reviews
Nathan turned that day trip from Milan into a movie. Our morning in Como town was delightful; we explored on foot through pastel buildings, wandered through the cathedral and stopped off for espresso at a low-key café he suggested. We took a ferry to Bellagio, our stunning reflection in the wharf mirror — the Alps laying flat on the lake like an impressionist painting. Bellagio itself? A dream. Quaint streets, artisanal gelato, and the best lakefront lunch.
Both driver and guide did their jobs perfectly. The beauty of Lake Como is breathtaking. My one suggestion is to be straight forward about what the trip includes. If you never go to Varenna in November-don't list it as a place to visit. That was why I picked this tour. That being said it was well worth the money.
The trip started with a very comfortable bus tour to Lake Como. The lake and surrounding area is amazing. We lucked out for a very clear cool beautiful November day. The hour boat cruise/tour of the lakeside villas & mansions was delightful. Saw some gorgeous properties. Spent a serene hour or so in Bellagio. My two suggestions are: state that you are meeting outside and across from the train station. We arrived before the suggested 8:15 time and by the time we located the bus it was already 8:29 and time to depart. I tried calling the office but was sent on the proverbial phone tag loop. The other suggestion is if you can't go to Varenna in November, don't advertise it as one of the stops. That village was the reason I picked this tour. That being said, I'd recommend this tour. Also the tour guide and driver were perfect!
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have concerns about my mobility on this tour?
Unfortunately, due to the amount of walking involved, this day trip is not a good fit for guests with mobility concerns or wheelchair users.
Is this tour family friendly?
Yes. It’s a scenic, full-day outing with multiple town stops, but expect a long day with lots of walking and time on boats.
Is there a dress code to enter the religious sites on this tour?
If you'd like to enter the Como Cathedral during your free time, both men and women will need to cover their knees and shoulders, otherwise the Como Cathedral might refuse entry. We understand the summers in Italy can be hot, so a great alternative is to bring a shawl/scarf/sweater with you. That way you can cover your knees and shoulders when necessary.
Is lunch included in the price of the tour?
No, but you'll have a break to find delicious food. We're happy to recommend one of our favorite spots, but your guide is sure to point you in the right direction too.
Can I bring my kids and do I have to pay for them?
Kids are welcome on this day trip, and infants 3 and under may join for free. Children aged 4-11 pay a reduced fee.
Is Varenna included in the tour?
Varenna is only included during the summer months (from Friday to Monday). It's not part of the regular itinerary, but when it's available, you can enjoy the beauty of this charming lakeside village.
