Meeting Point in Central Florence
Your evening begins in the heart of Florence, just off Santa Croce, at Piazza Ghilberti. Here, you’ll meet your English-speaking chef, whose skills were honed in a Michelin-starred kitchen. This expert will guide you through the flavors of Florence and Tuscany during this unforgettable evening, shared with a small group of no more than 8 wine-loving travelers.
Settle into your spot, get acquainted with the fellow participants, and explore the tools and ingredients that will bring your creations to life. A certified sommelier will also join you, ready to lead you through the art of wine tasting and pairing techniques, making this a truly immersive experience.
Introduction to Ingredients and Techniques
Your experience begins with an introduction to the freshest Italian ingredients and their role in crafting authentic pasta. Your chef will guide you through each component, from high-quality semolina flour to local, seasonal produce. Depending on the time of year, the condiments will vary, as Italy places great importance on using seasonal ingredients that are only available or at their best during certain months. Regardless of the season, you will learn to make fresh pasta the traditional Italian way.
Crafting Your Own Pasta
Learn the art of making pasta from scratch, shaping spaghetti, tagliolini, and tortelli under the guidance of your expert chef. You’ll discover the secrets to achieving the perfect dough texture and consistency, just as it’s done in Michelin-star kitchens. Depending on the season, you might prepare a pecorino fonduta, a rich cheese that is particularly great in this region, or a truffle and mushroom sauce, another local delicacy. You could also prepare a classic ragù, the traditional meat and tomato sauce.
Throughout the experience, the sommelier will also share pairing tips, teaching you what to look for when creating the perfect wine pairing—your secret to impressing friends at your next dinner party. Of course, you’ll also be tasting the wines along the way!
Savoring Your Creations with Tuscan Wines
Once you’ve crafted, rolled, and cut your pasta into the shape of your choice, it’s time to sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor, paired with expertly selected Tuscan wines. The sommelier will guide you through a sensory experience, teaching you how to appreciate the subtleties of flavor and aroma that make each pairing unique. You’ll learn why certain wines enhance particular dishes, turning your meal into a masterclass in culinary harmony.
Your tour concludes after enjoying the meal at the school. You’ll find yourself in the heart of Florence, where you can take a leisurely moonlit stroll to soak in the beauty of the city.

Tuscany Wine Making Experience and Gourmet Dinner from Florence

This tour is everything it says it is. A drive through the beautiful hillsides of Tuscany into a Tuscany winery hidden in the hills of Tuscany. Our winery also included olive oil and bread as well as all varieties of wine tasting. The dinner topping off the evening was indeed a gourmet experience and we even “designed” our own personal recipe (proportions (Sangiovese, Cabernet, Merlot, etc. ) to craft our own bottle which we were able to take home. (We enjoyed it in Amalfi as we were traveling the next day). Even better were the bottles of our favorites that we shipped home to the States. They make it so easy to do and it’s worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable and so engaging. We learned so much as well as enjoyed the “wine making” and meal. Do this tour if you have a chance!!! On the ride back, our guide even dropped us back near our AirBnb. What more can you ask for??
