Surrounded by monumental sculptures and historic buildings, this iconic square offers a glimpse into Florence’s vibrant past.

The Uffizi Gallery

Step inside the world-renowned Uffizi Gallery with skip-the-line access, immersing yourself in the evolution of Renaissance art. Explore the masterpieces of Giotto, Gentile da Fabriano, and Filippo Lippi before moving on to Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and Primavera. Your guide will bring each painting to life, revealing stories of the artists, their patrons, and the Medici dynasty’s influence.

Terrace Views and Hidden Gems

Take a moment to admire Florence’s beauty from the gallery terrace overlooking the Arno River. This breathtaking vantage point is a perfect pause before delving deeper into the works of Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci, whose artistry forever changed the world of painting.

The Vasari Corridor

The tour culminates with a walk through the newly reopened Vasari Corridor, a historic passageway originally designed for the Medici family’s private use. Created by Giorgio Vasari in 1565 to celebrate the wedding of Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici’s son Francesco and Joanna of Austria, this 1-kilometer stretch was commissioned to connect the Uffizi Gallery to the Pitti Palace Boboli's Gardens. Crossing the iconic Ponte Vecchio, the corridor allowed the Medici to move safely and privately between their residence and the seat of government. Today, it stands as both a symbol of Medici power and a masterpiece of Renaissance engineering, offering a rare perspective on Florence’s history and architecture.

Our guide and tour of the gallery was perfect. She was so knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts. We loved this part of the tour! The corridor was less impressive in my mind. The Guide leaves you at this point and you have only the museum staff to walk you through. Recently renovated, it is just a long hallway … there is no history or even rocks. Just Sheetrock walls and some windows. Yes you see the inside of the church, but this can be seen other ways. I say skip the corridor but spend time instead in the museum.
