View the masterpiece at the Accademia Gallery
Skip the general admissions line at the Accademia Gallery to stand before Michelangelo’s David. Learn how this 14ft marble giant became a symbol of Florentine defiance and see the unfinished “Slaves” sculptures. -
3
Discover the historic center of the Italian Renaissance
Then, follow your local guide through the winding streets toward the cathedral while learning about the city's cultural evolution. Stop at the bronze Baptistry Doors, which Michelangelo famously called the Gates of Paradise, to hear stories of the artists who transformed these plazas. -
4
Witness the scale of Giotto's Bell Tower
Next, pass the 278ft bell tower adorned with red, white, and green marble panels that create a vibrant geometric pattern. Learn how this Gothic structure served as a vital city landmark and how the detailed wall carvings tell the story of human industry and artistic achievement. -
5
Learn the secrets of Brunelleschi's Dome
Finally, stand at the base of the cathedral to hear how Filippo Brunelleschi changed architecture forever with his self-supporting double shell. Your guide explains the daring 15th-century engineering techniques required to place the massive red-tiled dome atop the city skyline without traditional scaffolding. -
6
Finish the tour inside the Florence Cathedral
Your tour finishes with a guided tour inside the Florence Duomo, where you will explore the vast interior of one of the world's largest churches. Customer Reviews
Awesome tour experience and had a great guide!
Our guide was wonderful, the information clear and informative. The statue of David is wonderful and she explained the details so well. Our only problem was that a couple was late and then they lines were over filled with people so we were late in entering. She said we lost 30 minutes so we missed some of the additional things.
Last time I was in Rome, we saw one of the copies of the David statue. It was impressive. This is more so. And Annalissa (?) was a great guide, especially in the dome where there are so many stories to tell.
Ms Lori our tour guide was knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable and I couldn’t wait to hear what she offered. Highly recommend.
