This isn’t just a tapas tour, it’s a crash course in living (and eating) like a true Barcelonian. Over 2.5 indulgent hours, you’ll visit neighborhood delis, century-old bodegas, and local-favorite bars through El Born and the Gothic Quarter. Along the way, taste tortilla, Gildas, artisanal sausage, and the iconic bomba, paired with vermouth, wine, and sangría. The finale? A red wine porró challenge that leaves everyone smiling. It’s local flavor, expertly paced, and unmistakably Barcelona.

Tour Itinerary

  • 1

Meet your guide at Fossar de les Moreres (El Born)

Gather beside the eternal flame near Santa Maria del Mar, where your guide shares the story of 1714 and why this square remains sacred ground. It’s the perfect prologue before you step into El Born’s cobbled lanes and your first tasting stop.
  • 2

    Authentic deli in El Born

Kick things off with a tasting of artisanal Catalan sausages, including bisbe blanc (“white bishop” sausage), bisbe negre (“black bishop” sausage), and fuet (thin cured pork sausage).
  • 3

Vermouth bar in the Gothic Quarter

Next, follow your guide into a century-old vermouth bar. Sip house vermouth poured straight from the barrel while sharing Gildas (olive, anchovy, and chili skewers), tortilla (Spanish omelet), and Padrón peppers (mild green peppers sautéed with sea salt).
  • 4

Local cheese shop in El Born

Slow the pace with a three-cheese tasting and Catalan white wine. Learn how regional producers shape their cheeses, and the difference in technique between mountain dairies and coastal farms.
  • 5

    Classic tapas bar for bomba

Then comes the legendary bomba (crispy mashed potato ball stuffed with meat and topped with spicy sauce). Whether it’s that or croquetas of the day, it pairs perfectly with a round of sangría and the story of how this tapa became Barcelona’s edible symbol of resistance.
  • 6

    Local-favorite tapas bar

End on a high note at a stylish yet unpretentious bar where jamón ibérico is sliced to order. Pair it with pan con tomate (toasted bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil) and a red wine poured from a porró. Try the pour yourself—short stream first, then higher as confidence builds!
  • 7

Your tour finishes in El Born

The tour wraps up just a few steps from where it began. You’ll leave full, slightly buzzed, and proud of your porró skills. Ask your guide for a gelato or bar recommendation before wandering off into the El Born twilight.

Best Jamón Ever

The jamón ibérico on this tour was unbelievable, so rich and full of flavor it just melted in my mouth. I’ve tried it before, but nothing compared to this. If you’re in Barcelona, you have to try it.

Learned so much
Madison Torres, 05 September 2025

Our guide Ophelie was incredible, she knew so much about Spanish and Catalan culture and explained everything in such an engaging way. I never felt like it was a lecture, more like discovering the city through stories and food. I really loved this tour and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Foodies’ dream in Barcelona
Kimberly Lee, 03 September 2025

My husband and I are big foodies and wanted a tour that showed us the real Catalan and Spanish cuisine, not touristy spots. This was perfect and, also, our guide shared traditions and stories that made everything more meaningful. We truly felt like locals.
