Tour Itinerary

  • 1

Meet your tour leader near the Acropolis metro

Your tour begins at Athanasiou Diakou Street, a short walk from the Acropolis metro station in central Athens. Your guide fits you with a comfortable bike and helmet, explains the route, and answers any questions before you set off.
  • 2

Cycle past Plaka and the Acropolis

Pedal toward Plaka, Athens' oldest neighborhood, where narrow lanes wind beneath the towering Acropolis. You'll ride past the Roman Agora, a marketplace built in the first century BC, while the Parthenon rises against the sky above you.
  • 3

    Discover Kerameikos and ancient Athens

Next, you'll glide through Thission and pause at Kerameikos, the ancient cemetery where prominent Athenians were laid to rest 2,500 years ago. Stone monuments still stand among olive trees, marking the edge of what was once classical Athens.
  • 4

Follow the bike path through local neighborhoods

From here, hop onto a dedicated bike lane that leads through Petralona, Kallithea, and Moschato. These residential areas buzz with cafes, bakeries, and local shops, offering a glimpse of how Athenians actually live beyond the tourist zones.
  • 5

Admire the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center

After about 45 minutes of flat riding, you'll reach the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. This glass-and-marble complex houses the National Library and National Opera House, and its rooftop park overlooks the sea.
  • 6

Pass Flisvos Marina and the waterfront

Continuing along the coast, salt air fills your lungs as you ride past the Naval Museum and Flisvos Marina. Rows of sleek yachts bob in the water, and locals stroll the boardwalk dotted with seafood tavernas and gelato stands.
  • 7

    Relax at Kalamaki Beach

Your group pauses for a 30-minute break at a sandy beach on the Saronic Gulf. Dive into the clear blue water, grab a cold drink from a beach bar, or simply kick off your shoes and stretch your legs in the warm sun.
  • 8

    Taste traditional Greek pastries

Before heading back, you'll stop at a local pastry shop known for handmade treats. Your guide points out specialties like spanakopita or bougatsa, flaky pastry layers filled with cheese or custard, while sharing stories about Athens' food culture.
  • 9

End the tour at the original starting point

Finally, you'll cycle back to Athanasiou Diakou Street, where your Athens coastal adventure wraps up. By now, you've seen ancient ruins, modern landmarks, authentic neighborhoods, and the sparkling Riviera in a single morning.
