Your day begins with hotel pickup in San Francisco. Firstly, you will head over the Golden Gate Bridge to take in the morning sun and fog. On the way north, your friendly local guide will explain the itinerary for the day.
Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve
As you head north to the Redwoods, your guide will explain how these groves were spared from the Gold Rush. During the 1840s and 50s, thousands of majestic Redwoods were cleared for those seeking to strike gold.
The Armstrong Redwoods are named after Col. James Armstrong who purchased this land for future preservation. Before entering the grove, we will stop for coffee and a light breakfast, a perfect pick-me-up to explore the trails of trees.
Once in the Redwoods you will have at least 90 minutes to explore the area. Embrace the tranquility of the forest and majesty of these millennia old tees. Measuring over 300 feet tall with some as old as 3,000 years old, the coastal redwoods are a natural wonder. Through the trails, you will also find a seasonal waterfall adding to the park's beauty.
Drive through Wine Country
After taking in the grand forest, hop back in the luxury van for a drive through the Sonoma Valley. While heading past the hills and vineyards, learn about the history of California winemaking. Your guide will tell stories of the area describing why Sonoma and nearby Napa are perfect areas to grow and produce wines.
Wine Tastings, Vineyard Tours, and Picnic Lunch
While in wine country, you will have an opportunity to sample some of the finest wines California has to offer. We will visit two wineries. At the first winery, you will enjoy a picnic lunch amongst the beautiful scenery.
At both wineries you will enjoy wine tastings led by local wine experts. Learn about the grapes that thrive in the Sonoma Valley along with the winemaking process that create the delicious vino.

Driving through the Marin Headlands, you will stop at a stunning overlook for wonderful views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
