What You'll See!
Rome is packed full with historically significant buildings, impressive works of art, fountains and hilltops with panoramic views. Many visitors to Rome take two or three vacations to see all the big sights, never mind Rome's hidden gems.
You'll visit a statue by the famed sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini and moment later you'll walk inside a church to be confronted by a statue carved by the legend Michelangelo. Hear stories of the surrounding neighborhood that was plagued by flooding. Even see marks etched on the outside of a famous church to show record flood levels! This is all in just 15 minutes of the tour!
As well as these hidden gems, hand-picked by our Italy Travel Experts as Rome's "Must-See, Yet Unknown" places, you'll also hop out the car to see some of the most famous attractions in Rome. Your local guide will explain the circus that lies beneath one of Rome's most beautiful piazzas as you admire the fountian that makes an appearance in Dan Brown's Angels & Demons. See yet another amazing sculpture built by Bernini and hear wives tales about two feuding artists.
After Piazza Navona you'll hope back into the car and head in the direction of the Capitoline Hill to see a breathtaking view of the Roman Forum. You'll also see a staircase designed by Michelangelo and the statue of Marcus Aurelias.
We'll drive by the Circus Maximus on the way to the Aventine Hill. You'll see an ancient Basilica located next to the Orange Groves and one of Rome's best and least accessible view points.
