You'll want to fill it up, when you learn about our world famous Colosseum Underground Tour!
This tour will include several flights of stairs to arrive at the very top of the Colosseum on the Fifth Level and some walking on uneven terrain if you decide to enter the Roman Forum.
Your tour begins outside of the Colosseum when you meet our expert guide. After a few minutes to admire the external views, your group will skip the line and head straight inside.
Nobody wants to be caught up in the masses, especially on vacation! You will glide past all of the regular visitors as you set off on your epic Colosseum experience. Cameras at the ready!
Our guide will lead you up to the second level of the Colosseum, where the keeper of the keys will open a gate to give your group access to restricted upper level areas. Today, you're our VIPs.
With views this good, you'll wonder why these areas were restricted for the Roman plebeian class. Now, it's time for our guide to reveal some Colosseum secrets and legends.
After visiting the third level, you'll ascend higher. Access to upper levels is perfectly safe, but we do recommend comfortable shoes to take the hike.
Having learned everything from where the "Winners Gate" was situated, to what Romans would snack on during the games, you'll take the final climb to the fifth tier of the Colosseum.
This is as high as you can possible climb in the Colosseum and the climb is worth it for the views alone. You can see out over ancient and modern Rome from the fifth level.
We like to call this section, the "nosebleed" section. Just like in a modern stadium, the less you spend the farther away you are from the action.
After your tour is finished, your guide will give you two options - to remain inside the Colosseum on regular levels, or enter the Roman Forum.
If you choose to access the Roman Forum, our guide will take you through the special group entrance so you avoid most of the lines. You'll then be directed towards the main attractions.

Wondering where to get the best photo opportunities in Rome? Or, have you been trying to find out how people get that photo looking down into the Colosseum? This is not a regular Colosseum tour, this is a Colosseum tour for people who love taking photos, embrace heights and are desperate to get behind the scenes on vacation.
The first thing you should know is that "Belvedere" in Italian means "Beautiful View". We call this tour belvedere because you'll reach a part of the Colosseum that almost no one has stepped foot on since the 6th century AD. The 5th level!
On this express 1.5 hour tour of the colosseum, The Roman Guy will take you to an area of the Colosseum that is restricted to regular visitors. You'll skip the line with our expert guide, walk through the crowds on regular levels without stopping and arrive at a special padlocked gate. This is really where the fun begins.
The Colosseum is built over 5 different levels above the Arena Floor, which acted as the stalls for spectators when the games and gladiatorial battles were staged. On this Express Colosseum Belvedere Tour, you'll get to visit all 5 of these levels.
Our expert Colosseum guide will lead you back in time with stories and legends that are held within the Colosseum walls as you climb to the very top level of the structure and away from all of the everyday crowds. From famous gladiators to trap doors and cats, you'll hear the most interesting Colosseum stories during your compact 1.5hours spent inside the structure.
As you enter the ancient stadium, you'll find yourself on the first level. Without hanging around, you'll climb up through the first and second levels to avoid the crowds, and make your way towards the special VIP gate which will be unlocked before your eyes, as you gain access to the Colosseum's best viewpoints.
On the third level, our guide will give you plenty of time to take in the views from the north-west side of the stadium almost situated directly above the "Winners Gate". From here you can see down into the Colosseum on one side, and out over the start of the Roman Forum on the other.
After you've taken plenty of photos, our guide will continue with stories of the types of games that once took place inside the Colosseum. With nobody else around you but your group, you can relax and take it all in as the only crowds you imagine are the ones that once occupied these areas for games - Rome's plebeian class.
Think you've climbed far enough? Not yet! The Colosseum opened the fourth and fifth levels for our groups to access in October 2017. This means even more VIP areas to explore and even better views as you continue your behind the scenes Colosseum experience in Rome.
On the fourth level, you'll have reached the Northern side of the Colosseum. This section sits almost directly above the Emperor's "Imperial Box" on the first level, where he would get up close to the action - almost within blood splatter distance. Needless to say, you'll be safe from blood splatters up on this level. Our guide will explain the length Emperors would go to gain and keep power and how they would keep favor with the people of Rome by treating them to gory games inside the Colosseum.
On the fifth level, which served a similar purpose to the fourth by holding the common women and poor people of Rome, you'll get the best vantage point for photos. As you learn about the "playboy" gladiators and "groupies from the fifth tier", you'll get more time to take photos and breathe in the view of surrounding modern and ancient Rome.
This express Colosseum tour does not include a guided tour of the Roman Forum. However, we understand that for many, a visit to the Colosseum is not complete without visiting the ancient Roman Forum too!
After your Colosseum tour is complete, you will descend from the special third, fourth and fifth levels, and re-enter the regular access areas of the Colosseum. From here, you can choose to stay inside the Colosseum or leave with our expert guide. Those who choose to leave with our guide will be lead out of the Colosseum and across the road to the Roman Forum. Here, our guide will ensure you gain entrance to the Roman Forum through the special group entrance.
Once inside, you'll be given brief instruction as to where to access the ancient forum and Palatine Hill. Our guide will then collect your headsets and bid you farewell, as you venture off down the ancient streets of Rome. There is so much to explore and we recommend you take your time doing it. We advise clients to bring a small snack with them on this tour, as after all the climbing, you'll have built up an appetite. With a little boost of energy, you can keep yourself going through the Forum until it's time for pizza.

They reserve the right to change our start time or even in very rare cases cancel a tour for any reason including maintenance. We would inform you a few weeks before your tour if there are any changes. *** In the case of heavy rainfall the Colosseum management may close access to "restricted areas" at the last minute for reasons of safety. The Roman Guy runs guided tours rain or shine. If your group is subject to closures by the Colosseum and do not get access to the restricted areas due to bad weather, we will still continue with a 2hour tour of the Colosseum, excluding the restricted areas. The Roman Guy is learning how to control the weather but has yet to perfect it. ---If you have any doubts about your mobility, we strongly suggest you take a Colosseum private tour.

He made the tour so interesting and is what made the cost totally worth it!
