If you’ve left your New Year’s Eve plans to the last minute (as I normally do) then here’s a few suggestions for where to spend NYE in Rome. Whether you prefer a quiet dinner with your loved ones or you’re looking for some serious partying with your friends, starting 2018 in Rome is definitely a treat! You will find that most restaurants in Rome offer a set menu for NYE dinner with a set price. The menus will vary from meat to fish courses and prices can range from 40€ up to 300€ (if not more)! It all depends on the restaurant, location and food! You can decide how much you are willing to spend but if you haven’t done so already, book a table now!

A fun fact: Italians eat lentils just after midnight as a sign of good luck and fortune for the new year. Join in with the locals, don’t be shy!

Fireworks in Rome
There will be fireworks going off all around the city at midnight. For the best views, head to one of the rooftop bars in Rome. Check out some of the Rooftop bars near the Colosseum or the Rooftop bars near the Vatican.
La Festa di Roma – New Year’s Eve & Day Celebrations
2018 in Rome starts with big celebrations all across the city. Starting at Circus Maximus, with a party lasting 24 hours from 9PM on 31 December to 9PM on the 1 January 2018. There will be concerts, DJ’s, cinema, dance performers and so much more!

Head to Piazza del Popolo for New Year’s day celebrations starting at 15:30.
Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, Via dei Condotti, Piazza di Spagna, Via del Babuino, Via di Ripetta, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Via del Corso and ends back on Piazza del Popolo.
