The Roman Guy Tours
Q: Do the prices on the website include tickets, taxes, and fees?
A: Yes, our online prices don’t have hidden fees.
Q: Do you skip the line for tickets on all your tours?
A: Yes. We skip the line on all of our tours. At times there may be a security line to get in certain areas like the Vatican City.
Q: Do your guides speak English?
A: Yes. Some of them are native English speakers, but all of them speak fluent English. Check our Trip Advisor page for rave reviews.
Q: Is gratuity included in the price of the tour?
A: No. Please bring a little extra cash to tip your guides and drivers when applicable.
Q: Can we request a guide?
A: Yes. If you have a preference, we can place you with a certain guide, but we cannot guarantee they will be available for that tour. Rest assured that you’ll love all of our hand-picked guides who love to tell stories in their cities.
Q: What is your payment policy?
A: We ask for 100% payment upon confirmation.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please click here to read our cancellation policy.
Q: Will the guide pick us up at our hotel?
A: Most of our tours do not include hotel pickup unless it’s a private tour. There are a few other tours that include hotel pickup when it’s a longer day trip. Please check the tour details or FAQ or reach out to us with questions.
Q: Will we do a lot of walking?
A: Most tours are 90% on foot. If you don’t currently live an active lifestyle, we recommend spending at least a month walking each day to get used to how much walking you’ll do in Europe.
Q: Do we need to wear long pants at the Vatican?
A: The Vatican requires both men and women to cover shoulders and knees while inside sacred areas like the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. True, knee-length shorts on men and women are usually fine. In addition to the Vatican, when any church is listed as a stop on your tour itinerary, please ensure you are wearing suitable clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
Q: Do you run tours in the rain?
A: Yes, we run our tour rain or shine.
Q: What is the difference between a private tour and a small group tour?
A: Private tour groups consist of your party/group with your own private guide. A small group tour is when you join a tour that is open to other The Roman Guy travelers. Small group tours vary in size between 8-20 people, depending on the tour.
Q: We are a small group. Should we do a small group tour?
A: Not necessarily. You can select a private tour, or depending on availability and the size of your group, we may be able to accommodate you on one of our small group tours with other travelers. Check the availability for your group size on the tour calendar that you’re looking to book.
